You beat me to it. My shackles are in the rear cargo area. Which means they’re always available, never muddy/ice-covered. If you can avoid the distraction of color matching recovery gear, you can instead prioritize quality/durability/safety.

Yeah, I had that size on mine (actually 265/70r17) because they came on the OEM Black Diamond takeoffs that I bought. Drove it that way for a couple weeks before installing the 285/70r17 KO3s. Just my opinion but the 33” look so much better than the 31.6”. And, .75” more clearance ain’t nothin...

For 2.5 years (~32k miles), I ran 255/85r16 tires on my base non-sas with auto transmission. I now run 285/70r17. I haven’t reprogrammed anything and I’m not even thinking about it. Feels totally fine to drive and definitely not sluggish, even with the 2.3L. I daily drive my Bronco in the ‘burbs...
