We've camped along this trail before, but on the backside of Delamar Mountain along forest road 3N12C, which it doesn't look like @bronco.brandon included on his trip (probably a good idea as the snow would have been deeper on that side). 3N12C is a lesser-used road (and slightly more technical...
There was actually quite a lot of gold mined out of Holcomb Valley, which was primarily placer deposits, plus several hard rock operations on the rocky ridges around it. About 350,000 ounces. I don't believe any significant amounts of silver were ever mined there, although one of the larger hard...
That truly is surprising, as these pinions are teeny-tiny! They must be made of unobtanium while the ring gear is pot metal LOL. I can hear the Internet now: "the ring gear is designed that way as a fuse so you don't break the pinion gear" :cwl:
Best. Topic. Ever.

Alright, here we go!
That Bronco looks like it’s trying way too hard to be a Baja 1000 racer but probably gets nervous going over speed bumps at the mall. Those blue racing stripes? More like blue denial—because no amount of stripes...
I have the standard (non-Advanced) T-case which simply leaves the front output disengaged when in 2H (and there's no 4A). I rarely use 4H, as I just leave it in 2H for most mild wheeling and use the rear locker if needed in a pinch. I do use 4L quite a bit off-road, and I probably off-road more...
They published that video only a couple of months after mine where I spread all that disinformation...I feel special LOL.
PSA: don't wheel with me or you might end up having to drag my junk back to the pavement when my front end shits the bed from the gear oil shearing :)
I was curious about that "half case" business too, since my Yukon gears did indeed fit inside the factory case. Maybe they determined that the thicker ring gear doesn't leave enough clearance from the case wall to promote proper oiling. I think Dana/Spicer may have alluded to that in one of...
I have this one from Wolfbox and it works great. I haven't needed it on my '21 Bronco yet but it starts my 7.3L F250 diesel when the batteries get low, and I've used it to start my Early Bronco a few times when the battery was dead. It also works well as a compact powerpack for charging devices...
I have the Optima DH7 in mine, it's pretty much a direct replacement for the factory one. I think the factory battery is made by Clarios, Optima's parent company. They might be pretty much the same battery with a different color enclosure.
OK guys let's pick a winner. Lots of great photos with some awesome views so I narrowed it down by culling out the ones that didn't quite conform to the request, most specifically the part about "view from your driver's seat". Of those that made the cut I'm going to give it to @KABQ because I...
I can't comment on whether the newer ones are improved over the 2021/22's, but in my experience the earlier ones have been reliable. Mine is a 2021 with manual transmission. Mine did have, and still does have, that faint transmission noise you asked about. Other than barely noticing it once in a...
Haha well OK then.
Not sure if this is a repeat but let's see the view from your driver's seat, from somewhere on a trail. Bonus points for the view and location. If you are able to, instead of telling us where the pic is from, go to Google Maps and drop a pin in the approximate location from...
Ahem...I posted that for the previous challenge before I knew it had already expired LOL...feel free to reassign the win to someone that was actually keeping up with the current challenges :) (that said, when I first posted that photo on Facebook one of my buddies did chime in with "yeah I knew...
Like @SierraBronco said I've done it (see video he linked to). It's a big job so if you can find a shop you trust to do it, good for you. Since I did it myself, I can't help you on a cost estimate but I think @ZapMflash's bill of $1,700 sounds fair for doing both ends, at least here in CA where...
Just passed 60K miles and still on the factory windshield. Lots of gravel roads, lots of interstates, lots of off-road, lots of cross-country trips. And lots of shitty Southern California freeways with crumbling surfaces and gravel trucks bouncing over the potholes, etc. I still think y'all just...
