The power curve on the Coyote is awful for a heavy, off-road rig. You don't even really get into the torque below 3k. You'd have to gear the piss out of it to keep the revs up, so yeah, that particular V8 could absolutely get worse gas mileage than a little turbo. Now, a smaller displacement...
Yeah, but Jeep did it as kind of a last hurrah before the larger V8s get legislated out of existence. You already can't get the 392 in a half ton Ram anymore. The current Challenger and Charger are a few years from going hybrid/electric. Emissions requirements are clamping down progressively...
Almost certainly we'll see the 3.0 Ecoboost. Based on the same block as the 2.7L. Much less engineering effort to make it work. Makes plenty of power in its other applications but I doubt Ford will let the Bronco challenge the F150 Raptor for highest power numbers.
Same. I prefer the lighter silver or even body color or an accent color. Anything but all black wheels really. I'll be powdercoating mine one of those options someday when my BadSquatch gets here.
They're also building a lot less Broncos than they really would like to be right now which may very well help them catch up on the items that have been constraints all along. So, when they're ready to rock and roll after the MIC fiasco they may be in a much better position to do so without delays.
Because they're designed that way... they had to go with a softer window material to get the articulation they wanted back there. Is it a defect? No. A poor design decision? Possibly.
That's my biggest fear as well. That we'd finally get green but it would be a one year thing. I've been holding out for the body colored mod top. I'm hoping that they'll move the mod top up to late MY22 take pressure off the MIC. But I may end up switching to another top towards the end of MY22...
I was in the very vocal crowd that wanted a green to be available at launch. I'm quite pleased that Ford offered us up a vintage inspired green and avoided falling into the trap of the overplayed military colors or an obnoxiously bright lime.
I'mma be heated if they remove the Active Orange trim from the Badlands. Add a neutral gray that's already available on one of the lower trims for the complainers, sure, but don't remove it.
September of 22 is a ridiculous statement. They aren't going to shut down the line for a full year. We will be re-entering our builds for '22 next month. The revised hard top tooling is supposed to be in place by September of '21 and hopefully making good tops by October/November. Once they have...
The C8 Vette was arguably an even higher profile launch facing the same issues. When the model year rolled, they swapped out 3-4 colors and rearranged a bunch of options and packages. Those buyers still had to choose from what was now available. It's the industry norm🤷🏼♂️. Doesn't matter if...
