Mine is a 1st quarter 2023.
Just using the Lumen wiring kit gave me a working trailer hookup.
Forscan is what added the towing mode options in center stack, power for the 7-pin, and peace of mind.
Basically, you are good to go without any Forscan changes if you are just using the 4 pin.

Listening to folks on the forum, it sounds like those of us with cracks are in the minority and the squeaky wheel. I know how the internet is and that bad news about something in a forum is not always the majority, but...
Since discovering cracks on mine and my revealing day at the dealership...
Do you think it is just the outer layer and not structural? I'm looking a lot more intensely at Line-X which might be what it needs to stay together. There is a video somewhere of a cardboard box that got Line-X...
I identified that every single one, 100 percent at 2 different dealerships, had cracks. Took pictures and posted them all. This forum barely flinched and basically said "what did you expect?"
Did you get this? How is it? I have been reading up on some history of the owner and their fight with 1UP. If 10% of it is true, I would never own a 1UP product. I take that back. If 1% is true...

I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier, but both of our Toyotas have 4/7 pin connectors. I tested them with the trailer wire tester and both act the same way as the Bronco in regards to the electric brake signal.
Neither of the Toyotas have a software delete for any of the systems when...
@RoverDude
7 pin tester came in and all wiring (minues the electric brake signal) is the way it should be.
I'm glad I dug down a little and saw that you said the following in another thread:
"If you don't install the brake controller, there's no separate trailer brake signal.
The trailer tow...
Waiting on the 7-pin tester but no more DTC errors. Shut it down, started it up and ran it for a bit, then checked again and still no errors. Tow options still on the dash screen.
I will update when the 7-pin tester shows up.
Thanks for the quick responses.
What updates are you looking for?
Maybe I can help, I recently installed the Lumen 4/7 kit with an aftermarket hitch and used the Forscan data on page 1 to update the Bronco.
2023 Badlands, 2.3 manual, High Package, built in March.
Lumen kit did not have printed directions, just a QR code...
I have no skin in this game. But I do have an OEM hardtop with cracks/delamination/whatever that Ford has done NOTHING about.
To me...a hardtop that goes together and comes apart in true modular fashion does not sound so bad. For example, if Ford had done this from the get-go, they could...
And the Hopkins one is made by Pollak.
Also, some of the Amazon hitches come with both a 4 pin and 4/7 combo pin mounting face for you to choose. Look carefully and look even more carefully at the welds, etc. I'm not sure if this is the place I would want to go cheap on and prefer well-known...
