  1. Mishimoto dry (cleanable) air filter

Barometric air pressure: 30.07inHg Temperature: 68 F Humidity: 95% 7:45-8:15 AM Absolutley no placebo, change in driving feel or engine response from OEM to Mishimoto, change in sound, or immediately perceivable performance changes. 2.3, manual, drive it like I stole it in Sport mode all the...
  2. UGH! MIC Top cracking

I just moved to a place where the elevation is close to 8,500, it has rained every other day, and the temperature swings from 45 at night to 75 during the day. We will be here from 6 months to a year and I do not see my previous crack problems getting any better. Especially since Ford said...

  4. Hardtop cracks? Something else?

Good morning, Ford. In case you were wondering, this is how a recall works: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a61708841/toyota-tundra-lexus-lx-engine-replacement-recall/ And yes, Toyota still prints money...

  6. LineX-Paint MIC Top QUESTIONS

My thoughts on #4: The Line-X will not crack. Even better, if prepped correctly, I think it will spread and fill a bit before it hardens. After that, I think it will be the protective layer that Ford should have put on there to begin with or at least as part of a recall acknowledging that they...
  7. Hardtop cracks? Something else?

I found another Bronco with a "bubbling" or deformed hardtop. Looks like Ford is on par with random tourist trap toy stores. Although the toy mfg. nailed a consistent texture and color without any snakeskin. And I could probably bring it back without much hassle. I wonder how long this...
  8. Oil Change 2.3L lessons learned

Up to you. I'm probably going to use a hole saw in the skid plate then make a cover slighlty larger than the hole that is held on by 2 10mm bolts. It will mimic our family 4Runner that is notoriously easy for oil changes. But I like messing with things and I know that's not everyone's bag.
  9. Hardtop cracks? Something else?

I called Covert Ford in Austin, where we purchased the vehicle from. They said we would need to leave it with them for 2-3 weeks. They recommended I take it to someone in San Antonio... But don't worry, it's under warranty.
  10. Hardtop cracks? Something else?

Stopped at Red McCombs Ford this morning. They said they would need the vehicle for 3-4 days to assess the situation. They did not seem concerned about taking care of it, acknowledging that there was a problem, etc. They even pointed out an unrelated scratch that was nowhere near the cracks as...
  11. Oil Change 2.3L lessons learned

Just finished 1st oil change on 2023 Badlands with 2.3 manual. I put in 6 qts of Mobil 1 and wil check in a bit. I let the old oil drain for 30 minutes, put on a Fumoto, pulled and swapped the filter, then let it drain another 15 minutes. No major spills. Very unscientific, but here is a...
  12. Wrong fender! Are you kidding me?

New VW TDI wagon at the outbreak of dieselgate. VW pleather in the front, plaid cloth in the back. Nobody noticed until we test drove it and mentioned it. Bought it anyways but they swapped the rear seats out.
  13. Bestop trektop rear window separation

    1. Get ahold of the original owner. 2. Ask if they will file a claim for you (in their own name). 3. Have them send it in and get a replacment. 4. Buy them a 6 pack. If it were me, I would do it for you. No questions asked or 6 pack necessary. Also, if I were on the other end with the...
  14. No-name hitch switched to Curt hitch observations

This is a good picture (not mine) of the washers getting torqued into the mounting holes. Probably not a problem.
  15. No-name hitch switched to Curt hitch observations

Recently swapped hitches. I have my reasons. Was surprised to see how deformed the washers were on the no-name Amazon hitch. Picture of 2 washers. Installed Curt. Thought the washers looked odd and was paying attention since the no-name hitch washers were warped. Backed off from 75 ft...
  16. Adding a 7 pin factory wiring harness

Agreed. It is available on my tester.
  17. DIY Factory Tow Package using OEM parts with Forscan As-built Data (without error codes)

Write all was not the fix for me. I kept getting the error so I undid my changes and redid them a couple of times then I started messing with APIM settings that dealt with trailering stuff. I saved each time and reverted back each time, always making sure to cycle the start engine button as...
