I'm betting they are all about the same now. Chicago version used to be WILD ...HUGE .... THE BIGGEST of them ALL!
Wild concepts, wild high end exotic brands.... now it's a rather lame showroom with a cool highlight or two.
I have ran 35's on my 2.3 manual , they ran fine, maybe a bit sluggish on launch, but not much to note. I thought I would really notice it when I switched back to the factory 30's ... no, not really.
35's with the 4.46 & manual are no issue.
6th gear becomes worthless, it causes the motor to...
No, something I read in an article someplace ... I believe it was about the Everest rebadge for offshore/non-domestic markets.
Then there was a separate discussion about a new "trim" ... e.g. .. Heritage, Stroppe, Sunrider , etc etc (rumors)
and finally, go back 3 or 4 years and there was a...
Those appear to be the Black Diamond "steelies" , not aluminum.
(Edit: Upon further review, they do indeed appear to be aluminum.)
But yes, the price is steeply reduced from what it was , and with the OEM TPMS and set tool , that is a damn good bargain for new/unused wheels.
Usually tough to...
I seem to recall rumors about another "Bronco" model ... but not really a Bronco.
Could be a non-domestic version.
Everest rebadge ???
Think along the lines of the rebadged "Bronco" Sport or "Mustang" Mach E.
... or it could be time for the real F250 based Excursion to make it's...
IIRC, from the Dana/Spicer video, the Ultimate (upgraded) housing is built to provide better lubrication of the larger (than 4.70) gear sets.
The 5.38 will fit and run just fine in the OEM housing, but the clearance on the outer edge creates a pretty small gap that restricts oil flow, thus...
Hey now ... she has graduated HS and also driven it on gravel/dirt roads, paths and fields!!!
Hell, even I haven't truly offroaded in YEARS. LOL!!
But really, I bought it because it's a Bronco and I was freaking DONE with driving an Outback to work everyday.
Almost every newer vehicle I drive will at times have a coolant type smell, but not a single one ever has a sign of a leak or low level.
Personal cars, work trucks, other folks cars, etc etc.
I dunno ...
Stands to reason.
The 2.3 LOVES to spin. When I had the 35's on, I got better highway mileage than with the 30's ... but ... I had to run in 5th gear at 2700rpm/78MPH .... 6th gear became absolutely worthless, even here in the flatlands of Indiana.
fwiw, around 21+ mpg on the interstate.
Now...
With the auto, I suspect you'll be just fine on those 285/75's.
I had a 23 Badlands 2.3 auto ... that transmission is magic with that motor.
I also have the 2dr/2.3/7spd/4.46.
I ran some pretty heavy 35 x 11.5 with no real issues.
I say again, you'll be fine.
Post a pic taken a bit further back.
Going by the provided pic, my gut says to move the lights inboard so they are biased to the larger part of the opening. (you have disturbed my delicate internal balance - lol )
The pics at 4x4truckleds sits better with me.
