When my son did the alignment on ours at less than 5,000 miles, he said one side lower control arm bolts were barely tight enough to hold alignment.

Well, unless there’s 360 spines, they are more than 1°. I have tried exactly what you’re talking about and it’s surprising how much it moves the steering wheel by just moving one spline.

Take it back. They’re supposed to test drive it and correct it, then test drive again, before letting you have it. Sometimes it doesn’t show that it’s off on the rack, not sure why. My Son did my alignment and had to correct the slightly off center wheel after the test drive.
