Any switched wire would work. I think the fuse panel has unused ones, maybe look for a diagram to see what can be used.
if you have upfiter switches and want to be more in control you could use any of them too.
it’s my understanding that the system disengages at a single point. Therefore there are no changes to what’s rotating. In 2wd you move the vehicle forward and the front wheels will move the front drive
line forward.
they used them in Long Way Up during preproduction where they discovered some failure points I think. There have been a few YouTube videos on offroad usage.
Rivian has done extensive testing in extreme conditions. They have an outpost/charge station in Joshua Tree/29 palms if you want to charge up and drive off-road. I’m sure they have outposts elsewhere too.
I wouldn’t buy one, but I imagine there’s a market for a Bronco that skips past most stops on the assembly line. An entrepreneurial type could order them as a fleet purchase.
I imagine only casinos have more security and cameras than airport TSA baggage check.

In 20 years people will have ripped out all the tech in these old SUVs. The platform is solid and at the end of the day the major components can be made to work without Ford.

why should Ford be smarter about it? They didn’t drop the price to intentionally screw you over, they dropped the price to meet the market demand.
