I'm particularly interested in the balance point - that looks like a little far back to lift with reasonable balance. As near as I can tell, the slots are just about right.
I do. I don’t know why I would have any reason to worry. But I don’t trust the roof engineers. Short term dynamic loads is one thing. But even if I trusted them I doubt they would have tested for long term constant loads. Thermoplastics creep. Especially in tension. Ill be resting it on Something
Need help finding badlands orange/yellow shackles - or hot pepper red - most are good different a red to look good and my orange ones (below) are WAY too orange and not enough yellow.
So, with the OEM rails, the crossbar locations are not adjustable - there are a couple of places to mount them, but they can't be adjusted. So.... I bought an inexpensive cargo rack for a trip just to carry stuff like gasoline and dirty rescue boards and such on a road trip and the bars don't...
This is all very helpful - thank you - I have the metal bash plates (Badlands). One reason I hate to buy RC - hate to pay for something I already have....

Installing pod lights. Like a dummy, I laid my bronco bolts in the gap between the body and the hood while I did some stuff and had to get to work so was in such a hurry I forgot to grab the bolts. Looked everywhere, but think they probably flew off on the freeway between home and work...
someone posted a question about whether it makes a difference what order you secure the panels. I have noticed a great deal of variation from time to time after removing and replacing. I find that if I really take care of adjust the panels as they're being secured and even jiggle and bounce...
