Your user name caught my attention.. My pops (long since passed) was stationed at Kodiak in the late 50's with the USCG. He was a sonar operator on the Bittersweet. I have always wanted to go there and explore the area he worked. His ship travelled the Aleutian chain from Kodiak to the mainland.
I definitely did not notice any issues prior to taking it to the shop for the suspension upgrade; definitely feel it now. We'll see how this goes....but clearly it seems like I'll be spending another grand ++ again. Sad thing is, my gut said just leave it with the Bill's and the factory lift and...
My apologies, transmission stuff is not my wheelhouse and not my language. Apparently it is the half shaft at the diff. Clearly had about a 1/4 inch of play, which I did not notice until today when I picked it up from the shop that put in the Fox 2.5 upgrade; the suspension upgrade added one...
I have a 2022 SAS Wildtrack. It came with the Billstein suspension. I had some other components upgraded today and the service tech pointed me to a potential warranty issue. The driver's side CV joint on the transmission side had about a 1/4 inch of play. Has anyone else experienced this issue...
I did not know it was updated. Was this recently? If so, I will load it up again and check it out. So ar, the GAIA has been doing what it's supposed to be doing but it does require some pre-planning if you are wheeling in areas without cell coverage (which is pretty much everything in the...
I am getting 17.9 average in my 2.7 liter SAS, but I turn off the silly auto start/stop. My spouse has the same model and engine, she is getting 18.3...but she drives like miss daisy. It's not as good as the 22 I was getting in my F150 with the 3.5L engine but it is much easier to maneuver on...
Well, I am one of those people with "two" Broncos. My wife has one and I have one. It kinda went down like this: we had a Polaris RZR for about 7 years and loved to off-road in the mountains right outside our backyard. It was very well equipped for both mountain and desert terrain. For reasons...
I have been experimenting with the Gaia app (subscription version) for several weeks. It has some "glitches" regarding the use of the Bronco screen to scroll and, but there are work arounds that require a few extra steps on the screen. Not a big deal, since off-roading is not usually a fast pace...
Excellent Post. Thank you for some great ideas. I am veteran UTV off roader, but that Polaris was a different beast compared to the Bronco. I would like to add some underlines to your post: bring tire plugs.....lots and lots of tire plugs along with a portable compressor. I have seen torn...
So I tried to get the Bronco app working. It works on my phone and shows up as an icon in my CarPlay menu on the Bronco screen, but that's where it ends. The connection between my iPhone and the Bronco does not seem to allow the app to load on the Bronco, despite my other apps working correctly...
Plus....regarding Gaia. I live very close to a national forest area and BLM areas, and all the roads, trails and routes I am familiar with showed up, and includes private land boundaries, etc. I will review it here after I have had a chance to plan and do some routes.
I downloaded the BRONCO APP last night and tried to get it working today with my Sas, and it does not seem to be connecting correctly. It works fine on my phone but is not connecting to my Bronco.
I also saw a video from the Ozark Overlanding guy comparing Gaia and On-X. I logged in to the...
I have Gaia on my phone, but I must admit I have very limited experience with it. I have used GARMIN Montana, couple with the the Base Camp PC software and US Forest Service TOPO maps I downloaded from the Garmin site when I was off roading my Polaris, and I really liked it....although there is...
