No spacers needed, these are a slightly different offset than the OEM wheels but fit right on. As for alignment, I don't think so, I'm pretty sure the shop just balanced them and slapped them on and I was good to go.
Avery has been making films for a long time, but they are the relative newcomer to the ppf space. I'm going with them because the shop owner uses that on his personal rides, even though he has years of experience working with XPEL. He says that he prefers Avery because it has a built-in...
Looks great, but I'm actually having mine done with Avery Dennison Supreme Defense Matte, which is a competitor product that has a built in hydrophobic coat top layer. I'll post lots of high res shots when it's all done, probably gonna start a whole new thread given that this one was originally...
I said the same thing, until I tried to clean them myself. I don't know what coating they use, but dirt rinses off like a non-stick pan. I'm amazed with how easy these wheels are to clean, and if you just invest in a little wheel brush, you'll have no issue keeping them sparkly (when you don't...
Just got word from my dealer that the FE Badge "part" IS available for order. It's $58 and change for one badge, and ships from Detroit (4-5 days to California). Damn!
No worries, these are all valid points and workarounds.
I'd be very surprised if this part is NEVER available though... what if someone gets into an accident and damages that quarter panel? Surely FE owners (and any owner, really) will have the opportunity to have the panel replaced and a new...
Yeah, it's not a matter of sticking it on that we're concerned with. It's a matter of removing it undamaged. It's highly likely they can, they just don't want to try without knowing if a replacement can be ordered.
It's not so much that they couldn't recreate an equivalent. It's just that this is a FE, a limited edition item, and I (and the shop) have a weird feeling removing something denoting the limited edition without the OEM replacement available. I know... I'm still modifying it and what not... but...
That would be a possible workaround, but I'm having a matte PPF film installed, not just a vinyl. I could overlay a thin graphic straight to the PPF but the idea was to reapply the raised badge, and have a black matte/gloss decal applied over it to "black out" the raised badge. I'd like to order...
The problem as I understand it is that to remove it may warp it or damage it. It's pretty thin, so I think their fear is that if they damage it accidentally there may not be an available badge to replace it.
Does anyone know if you can order a new badge for the First Edition? I'm having a full wrap done on the Bronco, but the shop wants to remove the badge to get underneath and protect the full panel. If they remove it, I want to have a replacement ready to go.
If you work at a dealer or happen to...
I had success with the bluetooth version. USB version should work too, but I prefer the diagnostic capabilities of using my phone with the bluetooth adapter down the road, so I stuck with a wireless one. You'll need the test/beta software I posted a page or so up in the thread for it to work...
Thanks everyone, I'll try some washer combinations out and see if it solves the problem for now (until a real accessory rail is released!). Appreciate the help!
