It might actually help and here’s why… after you wash the engine, idling it for a few minutes helps it dry.

Hoping to coat mine this week with an 8 year coating.

Modern engines are ok with water. I wouldn’t use a pressure washer but anything a hose can do should be ok. Maybe don’t put a hard stream at the opening to the fuse box but there’s no distributor or generator to worry about any more.

A spray and rinse sealant like Gyeon Wetcoat or DIY Ceramic Beads (there’s several options) is a good option to protect a cleaned engine battery btw. Easy and doesn’t require a lot of touching the engine to get in all the nooks and cranNikes.

Battery’s biggest draw is on startup. If you’re doing that twice without giving it time for the alternator to charge, there might not be enough juice to start the next day. Next time, the second time you start it up, let it idle for the five minutes or more before turning it off and see if that...
