Has anyone had any real world experience with these pucks breaking. It seems like on the rear at full droop in a twisted up situation it would just break the thin amount of plastic between the bolt and the strut. I bought a cheap Zone off-road kit just to add the 1 in spacer in the rear to level...
The advanced 4x4 transfer case has a lower low gear ratio, better for offroading. I would get SAS if you can afford it!
I wish they had a trim/package that was a Base with advanced 4x4, front and rear locker! That would be sweet starting point for an offroad rig!
They did. unti Ford killed...
Let me start by this is not my rig but I do flat tow my own Bronco and occasionally my F-250 behind my pusher.
Backstory:
My buddy was going to Florida and had his pusher on cruise at 65. (350 HP) He noticed his cruise control surging and fighting to hold his speed. Pulled over to see...
Frame mount for sure. I built mine and for southeast woods wheelin they need to be a minimum flush with the outside of the door for when you slide into a tree. If your west coast wheelin buy some "dimple die tube crap" and you will be fine.
Theres no great way to get to it. You have to do it blind ( can not see your hands) I installed the mishimoto can and the instructions mentioned the connection but not how hard it was to reach. Ended up putting my cell phone under the intake and snapping pics untill i found where it was at...
Hoss 3 is a good rack. Do the rack bushings. I want to say it has the larger steering motor and the approx size tie rods of the Icons. Only significant upgrade would be the 74 Weld housing swap. if you dont offroad much or not going to bigger wheel/ Tires should be good with what you have.
Technically its an " off label" application from the leftover parts from the hidden winch mount kit for the V6. (I have the 4cyl)
2dr owners have limited choices for the mounts so I dug into my scrap metal bin and came up with this layout.
I made what M2M should make for us.
I think its...
I have drug bolts that aren't countersunk d*** near smooth on skid plates, not a big concern to me. I can weld nuts on them and get them off like I've done forever. Not trying to spend $1,500 on skid plates Just so I can have the "bling bling" countersunk heads.
All in about 40 minutes. I had a week prior put in the rack bushings so it was pretty fresh in my mind how to do it, but really not that big of a deal.
I ordered the kit with an aftermarket but went ahead and bought an OEM as well, and used it? I caved and ordered a set of icon tie rods. Figured I could take off the factory ones and use as spares to justify spending the $350 bucks
Absolutley. did the rear lower control arms with dv8 as well. I I was going to go with the rci and save some coin but the Dv8 have what seems to be added welds/material on the A arms and the shock bolts are hidden smooth.
side note the Icon diff skid (pic) works well with the rough country...
When I unscrewed the threads off the tie rod end I counted the rotations and re threaded the same amount. Good idea in theory but was still out pretty bad.
Since only one side broke you can do a "red neck" alignment by holding the steering wheel straight driving down the road and incrementally...
