  1. Any shortcuts for installing lift and levelling kits?

So I've installed my fair share of suspension components and know that the instructions usually contain steps that can be skipped or worked around, and I had a couple of questions for those who have done the installs: 1) Would auto-disconnecting the sway bar before shutdown prevent the need to...
  2. Is the center console lid supposed to have a spring?

I just went to look at mine. It stays up and doesn't pass the tipping point until moved forward several degrees... Even with the rediculous factory rake. Have you had your console out, maybe it is t seated all the way down in back?
  3. Door decal strip idea

This is right down my alley! Nice work. I'm definitely not settled on whether I will be adding any decals, but if I did, this would be a top contender. I too, though, would like to see some more refinement on the ends, or at least make them full width.
  4. Bimini Shade Gearshade VS JTop

Your avatar shows an OEM Ford Softop? If that's what you still have, I can't speak for that fitment. But yeah, the middle bungee clips don't fit with my Bestop. And the Bestop latches either make you stretch the gearshade mesh slightly above or below them.
  5. Don't underestimate the 27mm rear strut bottom nut...

Yeah that sounds way too tight for a new vehicle or has some corrosion. You were probably putting close to 700 to 1000ft/lbs in spurts! Math can get you really close by "hand". First, you always want clean threads no matter what method you use. Torque wrenches don't know the difference...
  6. Bimini Shade Gearshade VS JTop

If I keep the gearshade, I will be buying some of those bungees. Thanks! I was really annoyed with the amount of force those hard clips were putting on that thing edge of painted surface. Not to mention that the gearshade gap provides zero benefit for BestTop softop. The mesh still interferes...
  7. Mirror spotlight Hack Mod Always on Modification

I would be very happy if we could at least find a way to increase the speed at which the light can be turned on. I will rarely need additional lighting at less than 5mph, but slightly faster than that, yes.
  8. Any tips for taking off OEM Soft Top?

I only removed mine once before I sold it. I was by myself and had no help, so in addition to other comments: It can be removed by one person if they are capable of lifting and walking with heavy & awkward loads. Imagine the idea of moving a heavy 60" plasma flat screen between rooms and around...
  9. Convenient spots for relays and grounds in engine compartment

So I've been working on some power modifications for my RSE stepslides, to make them more integrated with the vehicle and give more control to deployment. My first experiement failed, but I did find a few handy spots for relays and/or grounds that might assist other projects: While I prefer...
  10. Garage Air Compressor and Transair Piping System

If you got the big 2-Stage compressor (especially if on sale) you got a deal. The compressors on those aren't bad at all, and you can't get a true 2-Stage for less than 2-3x that price. They did save some money on tank thickness, but diligent draining should allow it to last a lifetime. To the...
  11. Rattling Windows

This is great! Thanks. I'm glad the TSB specifies to adjust-only, rather than all of that measuring and math in the other steps! Whew! That TSB and these procedures definitely needs to be a sticky somewhere (if it actually works and if they aren't already).
  12. Rattling Windows

I've seen this floating around, and am hoping someone has access to the procedure. If the panel doesn't have to be removed, I am wondering if the adjustments can be performed at home (if no special tool is required).
  13. How well does the Bronco paint correct?

You guys have me paranoid now! 😂 What Toyota? I had a 2010 Mag Gray Tacoma and literally 1 week before trading in, I scraped my rear quarter panel flat on the corner of my garage. 🤢 The curve in the fender popped out fine and a mild solvent took the white garage paint off. I was shocked to...
  14. Inexpensive TPMS sensors

Just a counter opinion: I too recommend Tire Rack. What you get are Schraeder Brand stems of the correct frequency. In the event a cheap sensor craps out before a tire change, the savings is lost in paying a shop to replace them. I look at it as a good investment.
  15. Aux Upfitter Overhead Switches installed! - DIY writeup instructions & photos

I have the RSE slider/steps. They come with a dedicated toggle switch & circuit; which I ran to the relay because I already have the Aux switches and I am determined to use them. 😂 My goal looks like a no-win situation for now. Unless, and this is a big if, there is enough room that a guy could...
  16. Tacoma to Bronco any regrets?

I traded in a 2010 Access Cab 2.7L 5 Speed for a Badlands 2.3L 4dr Mansquatch and manual seats. I'm 6’2“. First off, the Bronco's 10_way manual seats have so much adjustment I am amazed. I think I can go for much longer in this seat than the old Taco. My clutch foot still gets hung up under the...
  17. Aux Upfitter Overhead Switches installed! - DIY writeup instructions & photos

@RustysBronco This is amazing! The amount of work and investigation here is impressive! I don't want to take you too far off topic, but you may be the only person that can answer this: Did you get the impression that there is enough room to do some splicing at either end of the harness (either...
  18. Rockslide Engineering Steps - GROUP BUY has started!

I just installed the slide steps and am looking at options... I'm personally leaning away from 3D printing as I would (personally) want ABS filament and I don't have a heated enclosure yet. Everything I print in PLA seems too brittle and cheap looking for this, and it would be a long print just...
  19. Changing GOAT modes on the fly?

Haha! Awesome! I'm glad that has been resolved. I guess it's time to get Forscan installed!
  20. Changing GOAT modes on the fly?

I have a 2022 Badlands, so unfortunately I'm one of the many who can't even unlock sport mode with Forscan.... Until someone figures it out.
