Interesting thanks, that amp wasn't on my radar. 180 W RMS. I'll be at sensible volume levels most of the time and that may be all I need. The 12-gauge power cable is marginal for getting to the back of the Bronco according to a chart on Crutchfield (10-gauge would be perfect). You can...
Yeah, those amps are over $300 and appear to be Chinese-made junk. As far as I can tell, Kickers are MIA. That's not a hard requirement, but I'll typically start my build list with a mix of OEM parts and/or USA made upgrades and go from there. So, I am going to need a new power cable run.
I've read quite a few threads on upgrading the stereo, but there is a basic question that I haven't been able to answer. What is the wattage on the OEM subwoofer amp that is installed with the 7-speaker system? The only part number I've been able to come up with is M2DZ-18B849-A, but I believe...
Here are a couple photos of an expedition through the Rocky Mountain Loop at Uwharrie. I was in my stock Big Bend and my buddy had a Wildtrak. The Big Bend was able to keep up pretty well! The colors were just starting to turn, and it was a crisp fall day. We took the loop counterclockwise...
I would agree that it's really not optimized to be operated by the driver. There's a defeat switch, but it's not on the wheel and oddly put in with the radio controls. Defeating is not really operating. I feel like the brake could do it, I've tried ever so lightly pressing the brake to stop...
I evaluated this aspect, and it doesn't quite get to interruption. It appears that when ASS is engaged, the fan continues to blow but the speed slows a bit. The compressor must be off, but the evaporator coil has stored cooling energy and the forced air still feels cool for a while.
I still have the issue so that setting isn't a magic fix.
I'm not convinced this is Ford's issue after observing it for a month. The only buttons that don't work are the AA app icons. Other buttons do work, so the touch panel is working, and the Sync 4 is functioning. The trouble is, without...
Hmm, that Ford.com mid package link I provided doesn't comprehensively list all the standard and mid package upgrades compiled together like you suggest. Ford is mostly listing features added by the mid package here. But there are a few other examples listed besides Auto High-Beams that are...
This link is even more damning.
2023 Ford Bronco® Big Bend® SUV | Model Details & Specs
Click the info link next to the mid package and Auto High-Beam Headlamps is listed there.
Fair enough, but there is also some contradictory information out there. This is a page on Co-Pilot 360.
Ford® Driver Assist Technologies | Ford Co-Pilot 360™
So, I was surprised to see a setting for this in my Sync 4 unit. I have the Big Bend, but don't have the mid (or lux) package. My understanding is that the Auto High Beam functionality is part of Co-Pilot360 which is in the mid package. I can't verify that it works, but presumably it does...
Today I came to a stop, ASS switched off the engine, and I ninja-shifted into park. The engine switched back on. So, I think the hypothesis that this has to do with momentarily being in reverse is disproven. Frankly this was expected, that would be an embarrasing engineering oversight.
Once...
Yeah I think they are trying to maximize air velocity and displace hot air at the top of the cabin by shutting off the footwell vents. It is what it is. I wouldn't take this too seriously; it is mostly a bit of observational comedy.
So, I'm wearing shorts and running errands today, and jump back into my Bronco in the searing heat. I start her up and engage maximum cooling. Ahhh! The fan gets set to the max automatically, and recirculated air is enabled automatically as well. But wait! The air is coming through the...
The 2023 manual lists eight and only eight:
• The driver door is open.
• Your vehicle is at high altitude.
• The heated windshield is on.
• The engine is warming up.
• The outside temperature is too low or too high.
• The battery charge is low.
• The battery temperature is outside the...
