  1. Full-size Bronco not happening-Ford Authority

Personal preference I know, but I'm all for the EB-ish size of Bronco. With that said, it's been noted in other threads by folks here that "midsize truck" now has changed. Using "compact" for the Bronco seems to be exaggerating. But as for the sub-Bronco-whatever coming out, sure - that seems to...
  2. As-yet-unseen Bronco prototype codenamed “Rock Monster”, 2.7 V6 confirmed AND MORE!-TFLCar

Obviously interesting. Just to manage my expectations, I'm reminding myself the reveal probably still won't be for awhile. :) One of the commentators mentioned LA as a possibility, which seemed reasonable to me too (SEMA being the other possibility in the same time frame). LA is in November...
  3. Super Duty Tremor Package

Mike Levine @ Ford on Twitter announced some truck news was coming this week and it appears this is it. Looks like Ford is making a big push for off road options. Besides Jeep, I'm not sure there's anyone else that's been more aggressive for off road capabilities. Seems a bit gimmicky with such...
  4. New full size Bronco spy pics / info???

AFAIK, the 'baby' Bronco was mentioned as coming a few months before the standard Bronco. That was part of the news in that FL dealer meeting which revealed a prototype of the two door. https://www.autonews.com/sales/dealers-get-glimpse-bronco-prototype IMO, that small Bronco is a bit of an...
  5. New full size Bronco spy pics / info???

This reminds of the "timeline" biz that was mentioned a few months back. Several sites brought this up but it looks like they all go back to an OffRoad.com article back in 12/2018. This article claims that OR got a hold of a Ford reveal timeline that reflects the Explorer being revealed first...
  6. Ugly Test Mule

You had to bring up that Farley quote. :) There's interpretation we're not privy to I suppose. If I had to bet, the Hinrichs quote is probably the most careful seeing it's the official reveal and all the prep/timing that went into it. I think the Farley quote was a press conference, if I'm not...
  7. Ugly Test Mule

Ha, I JUST watched this announcement (the actual video) on the BroncoG6 YouTube channel a couple days ago because I was curious about the initial announcement (I haven't actually checked it out before). After watching the video, I was really caught by the language. Granted, it was general-ish...
  8. Ugly Test Mule

Fair enough, thanks. Good to know that your source didn't conflict with CM1's post - which seems the most legit info I've seen on the timeline, target date, and latest status of the Bronco.
  9. Ugly Test Mule

@Nickp - Yep, that post from Carmaker1 was interesting for sure. In particular, I was curious that CM1 mentioned "V6" (I'm assuming an EcoBoost of some kind) and "getrag manual" (which brings attention to that 7 speed manual rumor Jalopnik posted awhile back). That would be fantastic news...
  10. What styling cues does Bronco need to have

I see, so the only part Dana may be involved in is the CV shafts (driveline) for a front IFS? I just wasn't sure the extent Dana mfgs the front end on an IFS.
  11. What styling cues does Bronco need to have

@TeocaliMG - you and NM had a good back and forth. Going back to IFS, I recall Dana confirming that they're building the driveline - using their AdvanTek line for both the Bronco and the 2019 Ranger (I recall a 2017 Automotive News article confirming this). As you mentioned, the Ranger IFS...
  12. What styling cues does Bronco need to have

Not really a styling question but I am curious about the infotainment system that'll be in the Bronco. Currently, Ford runs Sync 3 which (thankfully-finally) runs Android Auto (I think Apple Carplay too?). Does anyone have any experience with Sync 3? If so, would you consider it pretty smooth...
  13. Ugly Test Mule

Oh yeah, that's right, the whole T6 Ranger having issues with anything other than inline engines, thing. Point taken At the same time, I do wonder if that could legit be a T6 shell-only. As in, the body panels and internal members that make the T6, a T6 are "hollowed-out" in some way and the...
  14. Ugly Test Mule

TFL mentioned that the engine sounds like the 4cyl. Can they really make that call on initial start up? I'd think the 4 & 6 cyl EcoBoost would sound nearly identical there. Just seems like one wouldn't be able to make such a call with such minimal exposure. Kinda nice to at least get someone to...
  15. New full size Bronco spy pics / info???

Don't know if this is worth a separate post but @TheBigKlosowski on Twitter caught the Bronco (assumed) mule out in CO. I think TFL mentioned something about high altitude testing. Is this a thing? I do wonder what this is doing out in CO. Note - this same guy caught what appears to be an F150...
  16. What Color Do You Want to See the Bronco Offered In?

I get the desire to move away from black, I'm just not sure of an ideal alternative for me. I would prefer whatever doesn't show wear or dirt as well and that tends to be black for me. If I had it my way, I'd just have WeatherTech mfg the Bronco soft goods for some kind of high wear...
  17. What Color Do You Want to See the Bronco Offered In?

Note on the above reply, obviously matte anything is not a Ford finish (that I'm aware of), but is be happy for Ford to add to its palate. As mentioned earlier, I think - some kind of nod to the Baja bronco would be something I'd consider. As for a more "modern" color, maybe the autumn...
  18. What Color Do You Want to See the Bronco Offered In?

This may be a bit too obscure of an idea for production finishes but it would be neat to see a matte finish option. Whether it's a matte clear coat over a gloss or just a solid matte. With the rise in popularity of plasti-dip, there may be incentive to test the market.
