  1. Mud Flaps Needed - recommendations?

I had the Rokblokz mud flaps installed on my Badlands so I can't comment on ease of installation. They're removable, which is a plus on the trail where mudflaps may be damaged.
  2. Jeep cancels all 4xe plug-in hybrid models

Sometimes a vehicle model is just cursed from the very beginning.
  3. Armadillo Designs Aluminum Hardtop

I took a few quick shots on the way home. The dingy appearance is from the shadows of tree branches. The color of the top really is like Oxford White. The shop is: Auernig Auto Body 1780 PFE Road Roseville, CA 95747 916-783-0280 The problem I found was in finding a shop that would...
  4. Armadillo Designs Aluminum Hardtop

Well, this is a body shop and they suddenly got really busy over the holidays. I wonder why..... 🍸🍸🍸🥃🥃🥃🍷🍷🍷🍾 🍾🍾 🥂🥂🥂 Actually, they're also installing heated headlights, hood struts, and a rear drop-down shelf. I just found out this morning that the last two have to be modified to be compatible...
  5. Don't be that douchebag on the road

"Ronco"? Mug hanging in mid-air?
  6. A few questions of a German Bronco newbie

Willkommen, Hainz! The phone charger doesn't work with any kind of phone. It's utterly useless except as a storage cubbyhole. We have the same thing on a different Ford model. Thanks for the idea! We have a Ford van and we really should do this to avoid useless heating of metal objects we...
  7. Ford Recall Challenge: How high will it go in 2025?

No problem! They recalled models sold in past years. That's how they can break the record again this year if they really try. My question is whether they will eventually need to recall every vehicle they ever built. :ROFLMAO:
  8. When to use 4A (AWD ?) vs. 4WD in snow?

Thanks for the info. That would make winter tires more practical in many cases out west. However, in the lower elevations of the southwest (Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas, El Paso, etc.) and in lowland California, there's a lot of >45 F weather in winter. In my case I can't see using winter tires...
  9. Don't be that douchebag on the road

I'm looking forward to doing this, so I can show my disbelieving wife that they really are two completely different vehicles despite the name similarity.
  10. Moardoor Monday: Let's See Them Four Doors

For a moment I thought I was on the "That Bronco 6G Life" thread.
  11. Moardoor Monday: Let's See Them Four Doors

There were plenty of four-door vehicles around back then and they were popular with families. It's just that the two-door advocates are extremely outspoken and tend to drown out the more prosaic and practical-minded people. I'm a boomer and I was around back in those days to see what people...
  12. Moardoor Monday: Let's See Them Four Doors

    That's my feeling.
  13. Moardoor Monday: Let's See Them Four Doors

Maybe I should convert my 4-door to a 3-door just to mess with everyone's minds.
  14. New SoCal member!

I wanted a Bronco, but the 4g Tacoma was my other choice. Had to delay my purchase for some time, and eventually I was leaning strongly towards the Bronco. Test drove a Badsquatch and it was instant love. Test drove the Tacoma 4x4 and well, okay.... I could live with it. Decision made!
  15. California 2025 OEM Soft Top - $250 OBO

    Still available, now $200.
  16. Snow chains needed for Big Bear trip? Have SAS

The owner's manual states that chains should only be used for the 255/70R16 or 255/75R17 tire sizes (those are OEM tires on lower trims). You might be able to use cable chains on larger tires, but clearance might still be iffy with the largest sizes. I wouldn't try it with your tires. If you...
  17. When to use 4A (AWD ?) vs. 4WD in snow?

Winter tires are great in a snowy or truly cold climate. They become far less practical in some parts of the western U.S. In many cases the lowlands (where most people live) will be snow-free or only have transient snow occasionally. For people living in these situations, traveling to the...
  18. Vibration Protection for Radio

I'll be installing two radios on a Lobo overhead rack. I'd like to dampen vibrations and impacts, especially those caused by off-road driving. Any suggestions for a good material to use with mounting bolts and washers? Of course rubber washers sound appropriate, but I wonder about different...
