  1. It looks like Broncos are hitting the lots.

Yes, I got a call yesterday from my dealer. They are getting some in and going down the list of res. holders to give us a crack at them before putting them on the lot. All non sas, base and BB 2.3 soft tops. That said I've waited almost a year and half, I can wait another 3-4 months to get...
  2. Reality changed my mind. I'm "Team Cactus Gray"

Don't tell my wife that. I already had a hell of a time getting her to let me pick a color other than cactus.
  3. Asking for feedback on what to do with the Ford Customer Satisfaction Money

If it was $1000, taking it off the top would be great, but $200 is gonna take 30 cents off my monthly payment and I could care less. I'd prefer some more unique swag at that point. Just my opinion.
  4. Ford's Bronco Customer Satisfaction Funds Plan Will Help Dealers Manage Order Waits

I appreciate the effort on Ford's part, but that's a bizarre approach. Factoring in markups, they could have given us all $2k-$3k in accessories for the same cost to them as handing out $1k to the dealer.
  5. New article with a spin on the hardtop I hadn't heard

The initial tops that were extensively tested and OK'd were made at a rapid prototype shop in Germany by Webasto and didn't exhibit any of these issues. For whatever reason that I'm not aware of, the actual tooling used in the factory could not reliably produce the panels according to spec...
  6. For those who ordered Rapid Red...

There is definitely something about the way Ford does their tri-coats, and even metallics that makes them look dull in a lot of lighting conditions. My wife's Hyundai looks like a bass boat and sparkles in my the sun like a diamond. On my F-150 you almost have to be looking directly at it on a...
  7. For those who ordered Rapid Red...

Probably will go back in to A51, but I'm definitely open to hot pepper. I'll need to see it in person first before ordering. Even though I hate the color yellow I think the Bronco looks incredible in CO, so I've been toying with that idea too, but im not sure I can stomach paying $600 extra for...
  8. The Gentleman's Offroader for Those Who Drink it Shaken Not Stirred

"It remains assured, no matter the circumstances...unless it's rocks...it doesn't do rocks...or...or if it's like reeeaaaalllly steep. Like...steep and rocky...that's a definite no go. Slightly muddy English fields though... completely assured"
  9. Rust on steel bumper of black diamond

And that's why I didn't want the steel bumpers. Been there, done that.
  10. Disappointed, not one full size in 600 miles

I've seen probably 10 non dealer or manufacturer ones so far, including 3 in one day, but strangely haven't seen one in about two weeks, and it really tapered off even before that.
  11. Stabar disconnect price

If you are going Sas. The disco is a fun feature, but doesn't add a lot of extra utility. It's most useful if you don't have full lockers and need as many wheels on the ground as possible. With front and rear lockers lifting a wheel might feel disconcerting, but it's almost never going to...
  12. What it took to get tow hitch installed on First Edition Bronco …

That depends on the state. Some require brakes on trailers as light as 1,000 or 1,500 lbs. Some states have no requirements. 3,000 lbs is the most common though.
  13. Ford Rep response to edit request

If everything goes according to schedule they do intend to build a small number of non-FE hardtops, but that is a big if, and definitely not with that res. date.
  14. Predictions please - is Eruption Green a 1 year color?

Was at the dream cruise and spoke to some Ford people there. HPR was brought in for the heritage model. They didn't want to be bringing in a whole bunch of new colors, so tried looking at what they had in inventory already that would work. HPR is apparently fairly close to a color called...
  15. Predictions please - is Eruption Green a 1 year color?

It all depends on how well it does. If the take rate is very low like AMB it won't last long and won't be coming back. If it does well, Ford likes to keep certain colors in rotation, like Guard, leadfoot, Rapid Red, Grabber Blue etc. I think it will have a year or two in production, go away...
  16. POLL: NOW WHAT COLOR ARE YOU GETTING?

I think it's popular amongst the enthusiast crowd, but I doubt the take rate will be anywhere near A51. Plus I'd be shocked if it lasts more than 2 model years.
  17. POLL: NOW WHAT COLOR ARE YOU GETTING?

Absolutely love Hot Pepper in most of the ranger videos I've seen. Like a metallic code orange, or a Brite red with orange accents. However sometimes it looks like a dull burnt orange. I'd really need to see one in person before commiting to it.
  18. Skid plate question

Yes, all your trophy trucks are using aluminum for the weight savings. The steel skids on my truck have become a rusty mess after 3 winter's, so I'll be looking at aluminum, or making my own. I've got a bunch a prepreg carbon sheets laying around. If I have the time a might make some carbon...
  19. Stay True to Your Original Color, or Are You Changing in MY22?

I'll have to see them in person. I didn't like the press photos of EG, but thought it looked good at the event last night. I also don't think the gloss black grill on the OBX they had it on works. I'll need to some real life shots of HP before judging, but it could look great. Might switch to...
  20. Will I be able to get a red Base model in 2022?

I get your point, Hot Pepper looked bad on the Fiesta, but tinted clear coats can look dull on vehicles with a lot of horizontal and curved surfaces because your looking "through" more of the clear. I think it looks better on the Ranger and even better of the Maverick with it's boxy styling...
