I don't like it quite frankly. I wanted a first model year, but I also didnt want to take delivery in November or something and have my brand new vehicle go through a full Michigan winter. I had already decided if I didn't get a build date by the end of September I was going to 99 my order...
I wish they would re do the options packages so they made some sort of logical sense like Jeep. A cold weather package with the heated seats, wheel. All the safety tech in one package. Oh...and maybe rear cupholders and adjustable headrests with all seating materials like every other vehicle...
It's because you have a VIN with an associated monroney. Once the VIN has been created and registered and a Monroney created with that VIN it must be built that way. There is no changing it. Doing otherwise would be a violation Automobile Information Disclosure Act of 1958.
I could probably stand one Michigan winter with a soft top, but two isn't happening. Also, unless Ford is offering some price guarantee on the hardtop I'm not risking it costing $2k at the parts counter.
My dealer (I know, I know, but a lot of Ford Execs live around them and order from them and "most" of his info has been correct) said VB is going away, being replaced with a very similar color. Rapid Red is being replaced with a darker red. Antimatter is no more. I was considering changing...
I get that the tops are effed. That really sucks, but things happen. However I have a 7/14 res. And I'll be waiting probably close to two years since that date to get my Bronco and all they are basically offering as compensation is price protection, and I'm not even allowed to change my trim...
Immediately...no. However in 40-50 years I could see them fetching a premium over later model years because of their rarity and being a first model year.
Hopefully it also involves suing Webasto for there incompetence. I understand Ford should have maybe been more on the ball with this too, but Webasto is a big very well respected supplier in the automotive industry. For then to have effed this up so spectacularly is shocking.
I may consider accepting this green as a consolation for my 7/14 res. being pushed to '22...still not happy about it, but this will help ease the pain.
I love that rear bumper. It actually matches the body lines better than the stock bumper I think, and without the cheesy aftermarket look I see on a lot of off roaders.
Velocity was originally supposed to be metallic grabber blue, but they couldn't source enough to cover both Mach E and bronco production. That's also why the accents in the BD are grabber blue when that color isn't even offered. Perhaps they have gotten enough to switch back to grabber and this...
The 4A on the Bronco is Borg Warners new electro magnetic clutch setup. The last gen F-150 (and maybe the current one, I'm not sure if they have upgraded it except on the Raptor) used an electric motor and gearing to force a fork against the clutch plates. This makes for an abrupt engagement...
From a bunch of 25 year olds with rubber-stamped MBAs that have no actual experience doing anything, and no clue how things work in the real world. If the problem doesn't fall within the strict criteria of some ridiculous hypothetical situation they read in one of their textbooks they are...
This article made me think of another Easter egg Ford could add. Put little Bronco logos on the MGV seat bottoms so when you sit down on them with shorts the seats will brand you on the back of the thigh...just like a real horse!
They will probably never do it in 4H. Too much liability. At least by tying it to Baja mode they can claim it was meant for off road use only when some idiot gets into a crash because he was going 70mph on the highway and only looking at the screen.
I think both area 51 on cactus don't look good on the sport. I don't think you can directly compare them. It's a cute little SUV, and the pastel tones don't help to allay the cuteness. On the Big Bronco with all th black/gray accents and aggressive look they take on a whole different...
