I purchased the Yakima extender from Ford which brings the hitch out enough to clear the spare and it works great w/my Kuat. I understand the tongue weight max to be 350 lbs, so even if cut in half based on the extender, I'm still within a reasonable weight, even if I added a second e-bike, or...
I'm assuming your e-bike's aren't class 1 and 2? I have an e-bike (50 lbs), a Kuat NV 2.0 bike rack (53 lbs), and also throw on my other MTB (28 lbs). Even if I had two 50 lb e-bikes, I wouldn't exceed the tongue weight limit.
If it were me, I'd contact my local TV News consumer advocate and get the story ran on their channel. It may get the attention of Ford corporate since it's going public and they may provide some relief. It's a long shot, but I've seen it help when others are scammed out of money.
It's likely...
I payed $1800 for the kit through Levittown Ford (less expensive than through my dealer) and used my Ford points to pay for the majority of the labor. I don't recall the labor quote, but I believe it was somewhere around $800??? Front end alignment was included in labor costs.
I'll take a shot at your questions since I also installed them about one month ago on my 2022 OBX Non-Sas build, but keep in mind I changed out the stock tires to Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 275/70/18's when I first took possession of it, so my experience may be different than the OPs.
1. The ride is...
So, based on the commentary of this thread and assuming "any" lift compromises the axle of the Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, and Outer Banks (all non-squatch), then someone please explain the Ford Performance lift for me. Why would Ford engineer a lift specifically for the those models if they...
This is the very reason I chose the Ford Performance 2" lift designed (by Ford) for the Bronco. Yes, it's more costly and doesn't provide the same level of options, but it's warrantied and designed by Ford.
I have a 2018 ZR2 and a 2022 Ford Bronco OBX. Let me say, I love them both for different reasons.
Ride Quality: great in both vehicles. I tried a Tacoma before I bought the ZR2 and hated it.
Fuel Efficiency: about the same. I get 18MPG on average for both.
Handling: about the same. I think...
I live in Colorado as well and NO WAY would I settle for a soft top, especially when you consider there are no rear vents for passengers. I was fortunate to get my Bronco (as ordered), but regret not getting the Sasquatch package, as I've now added bigger tires and will soon be adding a 2" lift...
Actually, I had them painted. I didn't think the juice was worth the squeeze with powder coating, so I went the easier route. The Peaks are 33" (275 70R18) and I love them. I've taken them wheeling only once, but they did excellent and they're great on the highway.
