I'm too lazy to get out of the vehicle and I don't like getting dirty, so that guides my research and choices, lol.
e.g., Badlands with cockpit dis-connectable sway bar, Mercedes portals with CTIS, electronic shocks, active exhaust, RSE step-sliders...
In case anyone was wondering about Exodus referencing e-clik on their Fox 2.5's...
SDi makes a universal e-clik shock reservoir that can be used with any coilover that has external resi's to make them computer controlled active shocks.
SDi also has vehicle specific applications that plug into...
The V8 swap into the Wrangler/Gladiator get's me more interested in the platform.
Portals, 40's, and V8 Gladiator would be a great overland/recovery rig.
I forgot to take tire width into consideration with my track width calculations. I only found 1 mainstream tire 38" and above in 12.5 width...
Yes. I don't really want a race car, I just had a slimmer of hope Ford would put portals on a production Bronco like Mercedes does on the gwagen.
I was seriously considering spending the $70k on portals and CTIS for the gwagen, but the 10yr old Mercedes starting giving me issues. Thankfully Ford...
My unpopular opinion is the 2dr Bronco wheelbase is too short.
After seeing more in person, I'm starting to come around and think they might look better.
tl/dr: I compiled measurements (track width, wheel travel, hp, tq) from the internet comparing my future build to the Raptor. They are at the end.
After reading Snacktime's thread that got into comparison of Portals to Raptor, I decided to collect the info that's been guiding my build for a...
I already keep too much stuff floating around the inside of my Bronco, I'd rather not have more! Lol.
I like the tire mount tables, but same issue of packing it inside the Bronco.
I can see the angles better with these pics, thanks!
It looks like there's room to get a work surface in there, even extend it a bit past the frame on the bottom center without covering the camera. I'd still keep my tailgate table, I use it all the time.
That looks great! I love their choice for plate and camera mount.
Offset camera in the other dual gate bumper I saw was a hard no for me.
Is there room for a fold down table on the inside of the drivers side? I use my goose gear tailgate table all the time. The more workplaces the better.
I’ve thought about getting just the rear cargo part of the MOD top (if they ever make one) and adding the Bestop fabric top that replaces both the front and middle sections.
If they made one that slid back you could probably open it under a roof rack, too.
(I like the MOD top because the rear...
My front plate is tool-less removal. I don't care if anyone steals it, it's not mine anyway. Is license plate theft a big thing?
I like this magnet idea. It opens up rear bumper options for me. I worked at a car dealer and we used magnet temp plates all the time. They never fell off.
1 summer with the soft top was enough to convince me switching from MIC to get my build earlier was providence.
I can flip the top back at a red light and enjoy the sun. So many trips I start with the roof closed, realize it's a beautiful day, and flip the top back in seconds. You don't even...
It took a bit to get there. For the first month or so I wasn’t happy. I was getting tossed around a lot inside. I would jack up the firmness and the boost settings, but still wasn’t comfortable.
Then it hit me that the rear has a lot of travel and my 21 doesn’t have a rear sway bar. The stock...
It is the exact opposite of the Sas Bilsteins. Those would crash over little imperfections and then wallow in corners and nose dive under hard braking.
The Icons are smoother with less lean and nose dive.
I spent some time tweaking the Normal setting and Creating a Sport setting. Now I need to...
Here's my zero experience advice on suspension. :)
I had two options in my head. I went with #2 because it was easier to get a trusted shop to do the install.
#1.
Kings with SDi universal active reservoirs, Icon tubular UCA, RockJock rear control arms and track bar.
#2.
Icon cdev stage 8 tubular.
@Covah22 , another option might* be to plug the rack into a '23 wildtrak** and program it through that donor vehicle. No ForScan vin swapping needed since FDRS will be plugged into the donor Bronco.
I can see a dealer being reluctant to do that on unsold inventory, but maybe an employees'...
