Spec wise, it is awesome. However, it seems like the performance engineers got everything they wanted and then passed it off to a team of interns to handle how to accommodate the esthetic design to make it work.
No doubt Gen2 will be a home run.
Like it or not the EV market is what is driving stock prices right now. I am sure Ford is focusing a lot of energy in that market and realizes they need to protect their efforts. If what happened to the Bronco and Maverick future owners happens to the Lightning owners, they will loose a ton of...
Mine seemed to do this as well, but the features of 1.7.1 remained. A couple of weeks went by then it upgraded back to 1.7.1, then a week or so later it pulled 1.9.0.
I got the call as well. While I am a but bummed I won’t be able to do the install this weekend, I truly appreciate the proactive customer service. Thank you @JcrOffroad!
The top is not fully down in the photo, it is partially up to illustrate where the bars rub (circled). When the top is completely down the Velcroed area will be sandwiched between the 2 bars.
The source of the rattle was from where the two brackets would come in contact from lateral (side to side) movement when hitting bumps in the road or rough terrain, not when opening/closing. The Velcro is just acting as a buffer between the two parts.
Sure can, I'll try to get one tonight when I get home. You may find you are rubbing in a different area. I found the issue by moving the top side to side as well as looking for wear marks.
I had the same issue. Start with the center most bolts, tighten them down about halfway or until the flanges start to align with the bumper. I then loosened the bumper end cap bolts (not sure it helped much). I next applied pressure to the center bar until I could get a helper to get the end...
We noticed a rattle coming from the soft top while riding around with the top all the way down. Had a bit of time this morning to track it down and it appears the top brackets were rubbing during lateral movement (you can see the rub marks in the first photo). Taking a page from Ford...
Just finished the install. Took a bit to line everything up. Definitely start with the center bolts and push the center bar a bit to get the bolts started. Once the centers were down it was smooth sailing from there.
