You're right, it'll be a long time before we know if ford makes back R&D costs, but I'd go a step further and say GM recognizes that they're to late to be profitable.
Also the big K5 was never really a profitable truck. And never competed in the Jeep market. That's what a lot of people miss...
The Jeep Wrangler market is very tight and GM has never been successful in that market. Why would they launch another truck into a highly competitive and polarized market that with high risk and low return when they can generate revenue with another proven chasis in the crossover market...
Then return to 1994 when the K5 was discontinued and the Tahoe introduced. Seriously it's been 29yrs since they stopped the K5 and they only made it 24yrs. The Blazer name has a strong connection to the S10 (29yrs production) or Trailblazer which has been in production since 98' than it does...
Yet another post lamenting the Blazer. The Blazer killed the Bronco when Ford switched from an off road biased vic to the "big bronco" IOT compete with the K5, which was also the shortest lived Blazer.
Ford and Chevy are not competing here. And Ford (or anyone) has yet to win against the...
I ❤️ the Jinmy and would have gotten one over a Bronco. But Suzuki pulled out of N. America after the damage done by Consumer Report's fraudulent reports about roll over risk.
As to the question, there's no real comparison between the two vics. It would be like comparing a 03' TJ to a Bronco...
Just an FYI the issues may have occurred in shipment. People are weird and if they'll shoot at 737 fuselages on rail cars they may try and steal parts or fuck with cars on rail cars.
I don't know about hard shells but there's an awful lot of Molly fabric pouches and at least in the motorcycle community we use fabric tool rolls that are Molly compatible and they seem to hold up pretty well
It amazes me how so many people feel a corporation tarnishes their "honour." I know Citizens United grants personhood to a corporation, but attributing honour to something that is only a legal entity is absurd.
And it it a continuation. The introduction of the S-10 Blazer was an acknowledgment...
Why do you speak ill of the Bronco II!? It was a good Bronco, based on the Ford Ranger. Much as another Bronco is based on another Ranger.
They should have named the Sport the new Escape. It looks close enough to the orginal that it would work.
The Blazer - Bronco competition killed off both while the Jeep just sallied on. Why would Chevy care to reinvest in that little battle when the market is small and fragile?
Besides the Bronco didn't compete with the Blazer until it moved to the F sieres chassis, a move that resulted in it's...

I think the primary issue is the service rep is just a person standing at a desk. Knowledge of the product lines is not required. Their job is to talk to the customer, because they have "people skills" and the mechanics do not.
The mechanics are hid in the back IOT protect the customer.
For me, it'd be my gandfather. My great grandfather was dead before Ford finally duplicated Cadillac's production line. But tools of that age are something else. Doing with horses or men what we do with LiON batteries.
