A hub cap?

The rust is normal it is a steel part.
You could paint them but if paint got on any of the parts around them you would have problems.
I would worry about your lugnuts first, they are not looking so good.
I want to get out to Moad some time and have about the same trail list you have. Trails do change a lot.
I have been using "trails off road" to plan my trips. I don't know if their trail reviews are any more recent but I guess you could compare them.
This area is in the sequoia national forest and there are a lot more trails there I have not seen, so I will be back. Some trails close for winter so this may have to wait till next year.
There are more trails in the Red Rock Canyon State Park, Randsburg, and Jawbone Canyon OHV Area that I have not done yet so I will be going back.
You should check it out, mostly easy trails any Bronco could do but there are some more challenging ones like "Last Chance Canyon" if that is what...
So much fun. And you lucked out, when I went they did not have any of the two door Broncos available. I did enjoy experiencing a 4 door to see the difference.
True. The engine needed to be replaced after about 10 years. It through a rod through the block I think. That replacement engine then also needed to be replaced at some point and finally the Bronco was totaled in a crash in the late 90's.
Red Rock Canyon State Park 2 hours north of LA
I did a few trails in the Red Rock Canyon State Park area, The Narrows, Opal Trail, and a few others.
Cool area lots of old mines and mining equipment.
Cool area, interesting history.
Rancheria Road is mostly a dirt road but I also drove Black Gulch Jeep Trail which does have some challenge to it. Great Views from the ridge line, you can also drive right up to the Kern river. Also some old mines in the area to look out for.
Beautiful Area.
Fun little day trip.
Handling and traction can be changed by surprisingly small changes in tire pressure.
I think you are right about 32 being best for handling.
Lower pressure gives you more traction, but go too low and the tire can overheat or just not have good feedback and have slow response.
Did these attach to the pinch weld or to the side step mounts? Could you get a photo of the bent part from more under the bronco looking up?
Did the mount fail or was it just the slider itself that bent up?
All your builds look amazing. The lift to tire size is always perfect. The Motorola radio in the center console is such a clean install. The onboard air setup is over the top, it looks better than factory.
