Yes and No. Yes you need to disconnect the light (easy). No you don't need to remove it from the mounting bracket. Yes you do need to remove the spare tire mounting bracket (which is what holds your spare tire on). The mounting bracket uses 2 of the 3 bolts that hold the spare on. Not a big...

Well the harness in our kit goes to the spare tire. It might be long enough to keep going straight up about a foot but if not there is also a 3m extension cable included as well.
