I worry some but will still buy a first year Bronco. Guess my biggest concern would be electronic glitches and maybe the front and rear lockers and stabilizer bar disconnect. I am very Ford ignorant so maybe they have had those for years on other Ford vehicles?
I hate auto start/stop on my Crosstrek. I just shuts everything down including power steering and power brakes. If you need to suddenly take off fast from a stop, just forget it. I turn it off as it is a borderline safety hazard IMO. On the other hand, our Lexus RX450h hybrid works great...
I guess it's true that there is a sucker born every minute! If my dealer tried to pull that on my ordered Bronco I would walk right over to the Jeep dealer! But dealer says MSRP with a small discount so I will hold them to that and make sure no BS charges are tacked on.
Off topic but after watching the youtube video about manual vs auto for overlanding, it reminded me of my recent small Porsche 911 disaster. I have the PDK transmission which is incredibly good for a non-manual. I went to start the car about a month ago and got multiple warning/fault messages...
I am 64 and getting a 2dr Badlands with Sasquatch. I heard that a friend of a friend who is 78 just bought a new KTM 300 two stroke dirt bike. Keep having fun as long as possible!
Been watching "The Road Chose Me" channel on youtube. That guy has a lot of really good insights on overlanding. He just did a video on manual vs auto transmission. Based on that if I was traveling to exotic locations a manual would be a must as it is more repairable. I am not doing that...
No Defender for me. The Bronco even well specced is cheaper and there are Ford dealers everywhere. The aftermarket for the Bronco will be crazy. I want a capable fairly common vehicle that has a lot of dealer support and aftermarket parts. Bronco it is!
I am ready.
2dr
2.7 with auto (no choice)
Lux package
Sasquatch
Cactus Gray
Winch
Tow package
Roof rails
Yakima roof basket.(to put the spare tire when hauling a motorcycle on a hitch rack)
Hoping the remaining backup camera will not interfere with motorcycle rack when tire is removed...
Yeah that video could really drive us crazy. Yeah your reservation matters but also Ford is going to decide when to make your order and BTW if your dealer does not get allocated enough Broncos then you might have to wait a very long time. I get that Ford takes all these orders and no doubt a...
Maybe I already answered this. Too lazy to check. I will be going from a 4 door Subaru Crosstrek to a 2 door Bronco, so some convenience will be lost but off road capability will be gained. The Bronco will be my daily driver. In city the Crosstrek would probably still be better. I am retired...
I live in an urban area with tight parking being pretty common. The 4dr Bronco is a bit longer than my wife's Lexus RX450h and there are some places where her car is a pain to park. My Subaru Crosstrek is much easier as it is shorter and the 2dr Bronco is a little bit shorter than the...
I don't care at all about sport mode for my Bronco Badlands. I am going to use the car for daily driving and off pavement stuff plus hauling bicycles and motorcycles. It's not a sporty vehicle. I will use the GOAT modes and lockers. I also have a sports car with four modes and sport and sport+...
No. When B&P came out it was a quick build for me. Added a couple of minor things. I have been through this process once before for a car and many times waiting for motorcycles. No B&P for bikes but still there is a deposit then a long wait. For me the Bronco is not some exotic toy but rather...
Great post! Yeah I think it's easy to dismiss the effects the pandemic has had on the whole world. Really quite amazing that supply markets aren't even worse. Waiting a bit longer for a Bronco is small potatoes for me.
Sure I would love to see an all electric Bronco, but I would not buy one at this point. For my intended use, the gas version is still best. We have owned a Lexus RX450h hybrid since 2012 and I like that car although the fuel efficiency gains are small. If owning an electric vehicle was as...
