I have the JKS sleeves but haven't put them on yet. I think it's a pretty minimal addition that will beef up the tie rods a bit without being overkill and put your other steering components at risk.
Are there any special tools needed to install them? My plan was to do it myself and then take...
Plan is to trade it in on something either all-electric or at least hybrid in a few years - something that is also open-top and off-road capable. I doubt there will be anything compelling though for another few years.
I think people waiting for rates to return to a "normal" of less than 3% will be in for a long and disappointing ride. To be honest, the rates now are probably the new normal and I don't expect to see them going much lower than 5% unless we head into a fairly significant recession.
There are so many bizarre features (and lack of features).
Honestly, I think Ford wanted free testing and feedback from the B6G crowd so they just released a bare-bones shell of an app for us to help develop/fix 😜
Was tempted to make some jokes, but I just can't. Glad nobody was hurt but holy crap - haven't seen something like this since my friend's Suzuki Vitara burned up 20 years ago.
I went with the Sunrider. It was kind of a PITA to install and modify/adjust to fit correctly, but now I can't imagine not having it on. Being able to open/close it in 15 seconds without getting out of my seat makes it all worth it. It will stay on all year here in SD too.
I haven't heard of the fuel pump failures - but I think you are right that it's probably just a bad batch of pumps from the awesome and reliable lowest cost vendor Ford picked for these parts.
It still makes some weird popping noises (especially when cold). I'm sure it's a bit of flapping near the back. Wind noise is good though. Anyone remedy this?
Pretty minimal stuff for me. No performance, suspension, racks, bumpers, etc. on mine just a few accessories and bigger tires. I honestly plan to keep this one for just a few more years until there is something hybrid or electric to trade up to. Might be a truck TBH, could use a bed and towing...
Tackform makes mounts specifically designed for this. I have one of the generic Amazon accessory rails in mine with two mounts attached - both their standard and magnetic. Works great and no vibrations. If you only need one, it's a direct fit into the accessory mount. Although any 1/4" threaded...
Yes mine went up about 20% this year as well. Still paying a reasonable amount for three vehicles and two drivers though. And I've shopped it around many times and for whatever reason Geico keeps beating them all significantly.
I've had Klever AT2's (285/70r17) on my BB for about a year and a half - LT/E-load version. Over 15K miles in rain/snow/off-road/highway. Best tires I've ever had on any vehicle. Will buy again when needed, but looking like mine will be good to go for about 40K miles or so.
