I turned off the “ speed volume” feature and it seems to help. There’s a lot of discussion about whether or not it makes it louder or softer when driving around or at highway speed. And my guess is that it’s doing something to the bass.
It was the 2.7L tune...process should be the same I imagine but can't comment on the post
results for the 2.3L.....but for the 2.7L the best part was the transmission change on shifting...much smoother now...
With the kicker amp, with the high level output connected, it auto senses when something is coming thru the wires and it automatically turns on. So I just connected power from the battery and then it turns on and off based on whether there is a signal coming thru the speaker wire for the subs...
Its one of the IAG grilles that is in their I-line products - called para-hex style grille. The front
light bar is a BD 20" S8 light with a bracket to fit the mod bumper from rudy's diesel...
here is my original post after install… most of the time I’m not driving the car so get a chance to hear it a lot as it’s driving away and coming back. So I still think it’s the right choice where you aren’t trying to make it sound like a V8 but you want it to be a little deeper sounding. No...
A lot of the times with system like this with a Fob to control the valve, you can learn the buttons into your homelink garage opener if you have it on your car. The learn process is just like doing it with a garage door remote but you are using the exhaust fob… so one button for your garage...
I have my auto stop disabled, so I haven't come across the scenario you are describing. Even with the car on/engine off the sound click is fast, but both my front and rear lights blink at "normal" speed. So its even more weird in that it doesn't affect the rear lights, which I thought it it...
Happened to me also on the install when I just had the car "on" with the engine off. But when the engine in on, the clicking goes back to normal speed.
Installed this morning and now trying to decide between white or amber!! Its my son's car and he says amber, but white looks good too!! Both look pretty darn close to the other lights (oracle letters, IAG grille, diode fogs) thanks to the folks that have been sharing their RBG values!! Thanks
It was a bit too bright for me… then I thought about putting vinyl letters on top to mute it a bit, but then also noticed the shape of the letters are not very close to the OEM stock shape. The Oracles just seemed closer and even with the oracles I put vinyl on top to match the body color!!
I had first tried the Amazon full light letters and didn’t like the look - but it did come with a nice buttoned up harness with 6 plugs and the mate for each of the lights as well… so I just soldered them to the oracle lights and then leveraged the harness going across the grille and then up...
Here's the fuse I used and it turns on and off immediately when you have the car on acc or on...its the last fuse in the row pictured..used for the oracle lights, the raptor lights, and the fog yellows (that turn white when on)
Ughh...I guess they didn't really address the white in their production version! Thank you for taking the time to take the pics! I'll stop here and not hijack the thread about the crappy color!
Can you take a picture of what the pure white looks like? I know there was talk about it being more blueish than white, so curious in their final version if its more white!! Thx!
I use a Kicker 500.1 to drive the Stinger sub, but I assume the Phoenix Gold has high level inputs? If so, you don't have to use the Lc2I to go inbetween - you can just take the output from the existing sub wires and put into the amp. Not perfect as I'm sure the B&O amp limits the freq. but...
I bought both the ProCal and the install from them and the whole thing was a little over $1K. I guess to keep the warrantee I didn't really question the labor seeing it probably takes less than an hr!!!
I have a touring borla cat backsystem and definitely no drone. If you search for my other posts you will find a video with the sound right after install. I'd say since that time its gotta a little deeper, but still no drone and just loud enough......
