Gervais Ford in Ayer MA did my install and everything worked out great. They alllowed me to create my own Ford Performance account and then attached the unit to it and did the download install for me....
I think the overlays will be made for the OEM letters and since the ones that come with the grille kit appear to have narrower slits on the B, R , and C it could be that the overlays do not fit properly. It wasn’t too bad swapping the letters to the OEM… might be easier than trying to sort out...
Here's the grille installed with OEM letters (with overlays) in matte black. Fit of grille is good and definitely gives a different look than the gloss wildtrak grill I had on before! If you are following the video on moving over the letters, make sure you buy narrower screws than the ones...
I found the bumper online at a place called Malcolm's takeoffs in GA and they shipped it up to me. I don't know how many they had - but they seem to concentrate getting used (but pretty much new) takeoff parts and reselling them. Maybe contact them to see if you have any left!!!
It took about 3 months to get to me, but I put it on over the weekend and its perfect for what I'm looking for. Not too loud (V6 engine just should never be that way!), no drone, and mas a good fit (minimal amount of tweaking to get everything to fit right. You can see from the picks the...
It’s a straight swap on how it bolts onto the frame. 3 bolts on each side. You’ll need to move over the sensors and harness ( if you have them) and the license plate light harness.
If you have sensors, you do need to buy the sensor fittings that go with the steel bumper - I tried the ones...
I swapped over to the OEM steel bumper and have the original (non-steel?) bumper with the sensor holes. Have a big box to ship it in and willing to let it go to a new home - just need to pay for shipping! Send me a message if anyone is interested! Perfect shape no dents/scrapes....
I just watched the install for the MTI and didn't see on their install any dynamat between...but the one thing I did notice is the different ways they mount. On the Stinger you drill 4 holes (template provided) in the tail gate...the two bottom bolts attached an L bracket that holds up the box...
I have the B&O system and upgraded all the speakers first...then just added this sub. Did the install myself and to your point fits like a glove in the rear door - with the B&O, I took out the sub along the side and thats where I put in a Kicker Key500.1 amp (inside the sub box) to drive the...
Basically two ratchet type straps that I looped thru the metal brackets at the front (that attached hardtop to roof rail) and then out the back where the rear window flips up - and then it was the game of balancing it left/right/front/back!!!
Here's my setup with 16 foot ceilings. I also mounted the electric winch further down the wall because of the length of the controller cord as well - all inline with the joist and the pulleys. I've used this setup for years for a jeep, and with the bronco hardtop I just put some pool noodles...
I guess 2 reasons...first I have watched the install video on the bestop and it looks harder to convert back to a hardtop....second only the ford one folds down all the way - combined with the IAG "helper" shock it makes it pretty easy to bring all the way up and down. Down side is the saggy...
I just did the hardtop to soft top swap last weekend. I'm keeping both (have a winch to store the hardtop up on the ceiling). Mine is a Dec '21 build and it did not come with any of the hardware needed to swap over the the soft top.
I purchased the soft top from another member on the forum...
Sorry, I should have updated this post as I had put one in the sell marketplace as well. I'm all set and purchased on from another member about a month ago! Can't imagine that you won't find a hardtop member looking for the soft top right now!
I'm trying to wire up similar to ITLRUN where the aux switch will only work if the highbeams are on. I looked at the headlight wiring schematics and thought I would find a wire to tap into for the relay - but it wasn't obvious to me from the labels. Where are folks tapping into the high beam...
Be careful just bending them off - you want it as smooth as possible on the backside when you apply the double sided tape. When you test fit it, look down from the top and you’ll notice that the badge will not lay perfectly flat on the body… so you don’t want the pins to be the high spot - and...
I used the black tape and just peeled one side off and put the badge on...then used an x-acto knife and cut around all the letters and insides. A little patience but it was not too bad! Just use a new sharp blade! I also ended up scraping some paint off carving around so I shot the badges...
