l know you know this:
Bad news - no factory delivery on Bronco.
More Bad News - if they ever do a factory delivery program and you pickup at the factory you still pay the full delivery charge! Ouch!
4 months ago I would have bet you serious money that Ford (or any major auto manufacturer) would not make a mistake like that in either place.
Now? I know Ford is capable of making that mistake in both places. Time will tell whether they did or not.
That is interesting - hadnāt seen it. I agree, that wording indicates itās effectively free. If it wasnāt it should read ārequiredā rather than āstandardā. However, Iām not sure I trust that document given its other issues.
Hard to imagine why they would do it this way. Buy a Mid package and...
I agree. In my lengthy post I forgot to address manual going away. Sure, eventually, but not for several years.
The resources expended to launch with a manual were significant, Ford wonāt get rid of it with this generation. It also critical for challenging the 800 pound gorilla and I think a...
To believe a Company can bungle a launch this badly (and actually lie to boot), but be really good at all other aspects of their business doesnāt make sense. And even if you believe that, the Explorer launch should give you pause about the competencies on that side of the business. No one...
Iām doing the 4 but only because of the manual transmission (if I order).
If the āfreeā automatic with 6 cyl holds they will sell almost no automatic 4cylās - the 6 is only $300 more. But I think the automatic pricing on B&P is clearly a bug. Itās free with any option that requires it (SAS...
My reply may read as brusque but I believe itās correct. Expecting anything else is not likely to work out.
Iām very disappointed in Fordās rollout (most significantly because they actually lied about production order) and I donāt know if Iāll pull the trigger. End of the day they donāt care...
The auto transmission is also āfreeā on the Base (and likely other trims) when you add SAS. Auto transmission is free everywhere itās a required component of some other option that is being selected.
I agree with you, no way is that intentional.
Maybe but seems very unlikely. The V6 costs $300 more than a automatic 4 cyl. They will sell almost no auto 4cylās if that is true. Why spend all the engineering and certification dollars on putting the 4cyl in the first place? Also impacts corp fleet fuel economy by making all Broncos with V6
Go build a base and add SAS it adds $5,800 which is SAS and Auto transfer case. Add a V6 - it adds only $1,900. Same if you do a Mid package on BB It adds only $1,500. The auto transmission does not add cost to any of those builds which is not correct.
Not sure what you mean but you may be confusing the auto transfer case and the automatic transmission options. If you build it on the site and pay attention to total cost when you add SAS youāll see how it works.
Depends on build, but when you add it to most trim levels it adds the $795 auto transfer case to your option cost (although not to the auto transfer line item). Thus the poster I quoted was using the $5,800.
Its the auto transfer case and not charging for the transmission is clearly a bug. The case doesnāt show up on its line item but the $795 is in your options cost.
If you want a 2022 go ahead and make a new reservation now. If you donāt convert your original reservation by Jan 31 with whatever options are allowed in the order guide at that point, your reservation will be cancelled.
Itās not realistic to think Ford is going to set up some kind of...
Ford always showed that tow package is not available on the Base (except in the pricing survey). The tow capacity of the base is the same as any other model so you just have to add a hitch and wiring.
Itās not available on the Base for the same reason things like Mid Pkg arenāt on Base - they...
The āsavingsā is really $1,600 because your getting the $795 auto transfer case with the $5,800 SAS. But clearly itās a bug - the auto transmission cost doesnāt add correctly to most build combinations.
Clearly a bug. They are not giving people a free transmission with the $1,500 Mid package. Same issue when selecting the V6. The V6 is not $300 dollar upgrade over an automatic 4.
A lot of people are going to be upset when these issues gets fixed.
Auto trans adds for free with $1,500 Mid package which is clearly a mistake.
Unfortunately, I think the auto adding āfor freeā to the V6 is likely also a mistake. I donāt think they are pricing the V6 at $300 over the 4.
There is clearly at least one pricing error.
No way does the $1,500 Mid Pkg include the auto transmission (its added for free when Mid is selected).
Ford seemed clear earlier when they said 4dr does have the manual transmission as standard. Wonder if that is wrong in B&P.
