The 2.3 litre engine in the Everglades is going to be more than enough for what you need. It's not a weak engine design and the power transfer is really good. Estimated 300 HP with 325 fpt if you're using premium fuel.

Got mine on Dec 6th. Rubbing up against 4,000. Haven't gone on too many long road trips though. Just to OHV parks in OK and TX.
Everything is so far apart in Texas though just visiting the mom is a 50 mile round trip. And she only lives on the other side of town.
