Future 4dr owner being super snarky because the whole 2dr vs. 4dr debate is so laughably stupid. I think we all just need something to complain about for a few months before delivery 😅
I've calculated the angles/geometry/tire size/density of the sand/vehicle weight/temperature/speed/blinker fluid levels/etc. and determined that the 2dr would also have become stuck.
So there!
I'm 5'10", 265, pretty broad shouldered.
Last week at the KMF event I adjusted the seat in the OBX so my wrists were on top. I didn't notice the B-Pillar being an issue, but also felt like the interior was about the same size as my Mazda 6 sedan - although the back seat was definitely a bit more...
Honestly there will be so many options for aftermarket bumpers, racks, rails, etc. I'm not sure why anyone is paying so much extra for the limited selection of factory stuff.
I think when they say "recline" they mean they are angled back somewhat, not that the reclining is adjustable like the front seats. But perhaps this is still a pre-pro issue, I hope so myself (that's why I checked).
Hi All,
Here are my thoughts on the BD and OBX from the event at KMF yesterday:
Cactus Gray was amazing. I'm changing my order to CG now (again).
The engine bays don't look that crazy in person. Both seemed to have plenty of room in there to work, and add some accessories if needed.
Also...
I am looking to sell or trade my BB wheels/tires, I have an early 7/13 reservation and order and no long-lead time items in my build. Expecting mid-summer delivery.
If anyone is interested let me know - if you are getting a Base and want a cheap/easy upgrade this would be perfect!
I was there as well, that BD Cactus Gray was amazing. I'm changing my order to CG now. A few notes:
The engine bays don't look that crazy in person.
MGV feels like...well, vinyl to me.
The soft top fit is actually pretty good, but feels like it will flap a lot to be honest.
Anyone unsure...
I'm 100% getting an aftermarket front bumper so will deal with the license plate location then. Even though required, California is notoriously lax for actually enforcing it. People stick them in their windows or don't have them at all sometimes, and I suspect you would get a warning at most for...
What about the over-the-spare racks? I've always like they way they look and would feel better not having something hanging from the hitch. I realize that the swing gate might need reinforcement (or even a separate tire/rack swing out), but still seems like a good option.
