The engine bays look a lot cleaner in person than in the pics. Especially the 2.3L, but even the 2.7L was a lot better than I expected. The pics make them look crazy.
I'm assuming you are talking about the 2dr, and for that I agree. But on the 4dr, the value of the base compared to the BB isn't there. I am not getting Sasquatch, it's just not a good fit for what I will use it for. If I was to purchase a base 4dr I would have immediately spent at least $2K for...
Ford definitely kept the Base unappealing to the majority of buyers. Unless you go Squatch it's a tough sell. I ended up moving up to a Big Bend to get the 4.27 locking rear and all the extras for just a few thousand more.
Cyber actually looks good on the Sport. On the standard Bronco? Not so much. Opposite for Cactus Gray. Seeing CG in person on a real full-size Bronco was a game-changer for me. Changed my order to it that day.
True, because the dirty secret is that a BB with the 4.27 locker is thousands less than other trims but still with all the basics covered - just a good set of tires away from being capable and reasonably equipped for $40K (4dr).
Wow, I didn't know the standard lights kept the amber running lights on all the time. Bonus! It looks great. A little disappointed the tail lights are not LED, but seriously who cares...I've never had to change a tail light bulb in my life, and they are in the back anyway.
Awesome work on this thread. I'm just going to throw some 285/70R17's on stock Big Bend rims, so looks like clearing the suspension components and crash bars won't be an issue. Nobody will be able to tell the difference between these and a 33.3" tire really. Worth it to not be so tight on clearance.
I almost did the same thing - TireRack has Method 313's on sale from $333 each down to $195 that fit the Ranger/Bronco. Both Titanium and Black.
But I decided to just keep the Big Bend wheels and put some good 285/70 R17 tires on them instead.
My thoughts:
Interior materials did not impress me generally (I think our Jeep’s interior is nicer)
Same observation I had - While not bad, certainly not what I am used to since my DD is a 2015 Mazda 6. On par with my '06 Pathfinder though, so as long as they hold up I'm not too worried about...
I think the production top will be closer to flat black and not match as well as these pre-pro/prototype tops. I think that's actually a good thing. I'm not getting Carb Gray, but it's a little too matchy-match for my taste. Would rather the top match the trim/flares/etc.
All the gas in CA is considered "top tier", so unless I see/feel a big difference running premium I'll stick to standard grade. I'm fairly sure I won't.
