If we are comparing 2.3 MT to 2.7 AT, then we also have to consider the power losses in the Auto... Not that a human can outshift the auto per se, but MT drivers will be able to control their shift points with less loss in the drive train. Also, FPP might offer a tune which would me a tuned...
My 2 cents: Smiles per gallon. Jeep and Subaru owners are in over their heads all the time. I work with a few. One got divorced and gave up the equity in his house to keep his Subaru. He blew his engine, repaired it, and blew it again. I think that's his real marriage.
Also, you wouldn't...
@Jkado None of the dealerships in the Valley would tell me their price structure, how they prioritize reservations, or their relationships with the aftermarket for Bronco (for ex: Gaudin Ford is licensed for the RTR build on the Ranger which include some exterior modes, a lift, tune, tires, and...
I did not send a pdf in but got a call from the mighty Albert himself. Discussed a few options and he fired over a doc to sign, I returned it and we're done! Feels good to get the ordering out of the way. After I get a build date, I gotta figure out that Ursa Minor top!
Finally ordered!! Now I wait for my opportunity to blow a CV in front of a Jeeper!
shoutout to @mrxg78 , like your build, not that I'm biased or anything. May your bronco be shiny and chrome!
Very true. Falken is heavier than Grabbers and Toyos which carry similar tread life. Although tread depth on some of the Falken AT3Ws are 19-20/32 compared to 14-17 in other brands...
+1 for definitely a solid front axle issue. Have had death wobble and never want it again. One quickly finds out their death wobble top speed over bridge joints and mine was about 45 mph on a 70 mph highway. Once it happens, tie rod bushings will be toast and you are slow roasting every joint...
Gonna revive this a little bit for the ole 16". The Method 702 16x8" has an offset of +30mm. If you could air down a little more with the 702, then you might get some sidewall flex from a 16" wheel. Kinda liking the 702 with some Grabber AT2 tires since you can get a 35" 3pmsf in Load D. Not...
My guess is the Base or BB with MT and 4.46 gears is going to be the best payload option. Towing I would guess the same for GCWR purposes, but I don't think I'd want the 2.3 or MT for near max towing.
Agree with all the aluminum. I am looking to cut weight everywhere I can and swapping the armor is a start. I forgot on-board air. I'll probably get a single since I won't have bead locks and will air down to 20ish lbs. You got awesome build plans. I hope you post your build on here someday.

Even though we can change at order, I have an OBX reserved as it might be a way to get good payload and lux. I do like body color features, will be getting method wheels and falken tires with an aftermarket lift so I don't care about the advanced Badlands suspension. Badlands has front locker...
