  1. Transfer Case Technical Discussion

Thank you for putting in the work to disprove ā€œfake news.ā€ Your post is incredibly important.
  2. Beach driving best in 4 High or Sand Mode?

Nice! I only had the guts to do twice the legal posted speed!
  3. Beach driving best in 4 High or Sand Mode?

Sand in 4H. This was at the southern end of the 60 mile (120 round trip) Padre Island National Seashore trek I made back in June. I was able to drive most of it in 3rd, with cruise=30mph, so as to better enjoy the scenery.
  4. You are simply not going to believe this.....unbelievable!!!!

Sorry to hear about your dealer’s screw-up. This stuff is designed to clean aircraft windshields. I discovered it when I had a Boxster with a plastic rear windshield and it worked like magic to clean the oxidation off of it. I’m not saying it will work on the adhesive damage, but it’s worth the...
  5. Bronco Overlanding 6 months review + photos from Southern Utah, Colorado and Wyoming

Thanks for the write-up. I’m happy with my vehicle but agree that the plastics inside are laughably bad. Knock on wood, no reliability issues at >4000 miles. The windshield chips very easily. Hopefully, Ford will add a ā€œGorilla Glassā€ option soon, like Jeep.
  6. Willys Xtreme Recon or Basequatch?

Comparing a 4 door with a 2 door is an apples and oranges exercise. If your kids and/or their friends need to access the back seats, the four door will be infinitely easier. I have a 2 door Bronco and love it. But my kids are grown. I have a Land Cruiser if I need to haul people around. In...
  7. Bronco finally arrived after 2 years!!

    Congrats! You’re gonna love it.
  8. Rack-Hack. HOSS 3.0 severe duty STEERING RACK and TIE RODS ...Ford Performance M-3200-WT

I understand that Hoss 3.0 upgrade includes the steering rack, as well as the tie rods, but I’d be curious to how those tie rods compare to the Fabtech tie rods.
  9. 7speed manual for off-road/crawling

    No problem at all.
  10. Area 51 or eruption green?

    Both are great colors.
  11. Badlands 4door takes on Black Bear Pass, Imogene Pass, and Poughkeepsie Gulch in Colorado.

Awesome! I must have just missed you yesterday. We went up Imogene from Telluride and dropped into Ouray. Black Bear will have to wait for my next visit. I didn’t see any other Broncos on my trek.
  12. Does the 2-Door actually exist?

Yes. This is mine. The picture is from yesterday.
  13. Got windshield chip not even 1/4 tank of gas in

On the way from Austin to Telluride, I hit a medium-sized bird at 70mph. Massive thud, but no crack. After overnighting in Santa Fe, I wasn’t as lucky in northern New Mexico. On a recently graveled stretch, I purposely kept my distance from anybody in front of me. It didn’t matter as a rock...
  14. Do I Buy This Bronco?

Life is short. If you can swing the 5K, do it. When I was looking at ā€˜21 colors, I was going back and forth between CG & A51. When I got kicked to ā€˜22, I opted for EG, and I absolutely love it. However, after seeing VB in person at the Off-Rodeo, I have to say it’s a very close second.
  15. Mountain Adventure - Texas to Colorado (and Back)

I was in a similar situation 20 years ago. I wish I would have kept my 2-seater and gotten a less expensive third car for family activities. You can always use your wife’s car for family outings. It’s easy to say you’ll come back to that two door when you and the family get older, but life...
  16. Expected Items When Taking Delivery

The manual in the Bronco is very smooth. I’ve never driven a manual that gave me a readout of what gear I’m in on the dash. Makes it a little easier while teaching my kids how to drive a stick. How are you gearing that 5 speed? For the quarter mile, or more spaced out? That SC 360 topped-out...
  17. Expected Items When Taking Delivery

Very nice!! I see your Bronco is a manual. Compared to the clutch on the AMX, it must feel like a toy.
  18. Expected Items When Taking Delivery

I noticed your ā€œhandle,ā€ 1970 AMCAMX. When I was a teen, I had a 71 Hornet SC 360. It was quite the rare bird. Lucky I didn’t kill myself, my cousin and somebody else when I totaled it in a stereotypical teenage wreck. The car was quite fast and quite the sleeper. Unfortunately, it had...
