Love the 7MT as it is the only way to go. I like the top and as my wife's Bronco won't go off road we don't have to worry about scrapes up there.
Now the digital gauge cluster I just don't understand why people get excited. Other than the speed we never look at the dash in any of our cars...
As I'm road tripping in my 2012 XTerra out to the northeast(VT, NH, MA) and will break 228k miles tomorrow morning, those mileage counts are laughable. That being said my wife's Bronco will break 100k miles after 3 years at the rate she is going -- 16k in 6 months since delivery.
Gas is nothing to sneeze at, but the IRS mileage rate this year is $0.70/mile so even if you only believe half that the commute costs between $28-$56/day plus tolls as this is Illinois. Luckily she does very well, but we will determine what the most miles we can get on a Chinese-Ford clutch...
My wife bought it for the 80 mile roundtrip commute I think we are expecting about 30-35k miles per year. Our 105k extended warranty will cover us just more the factory time duration.
She was commuting with a 225k+ mile XTerra previously.
Slightly cheaper than Land Rover's version

Our TN instructor for Offrodeo also taught at the Land Rover school.
The Bronco is my wife's daily driver so NO WAY other than it would be nice to offroad in our 7MT to...
I should have looked but I just(Monday, June 9th, 2025) received a weekly email
Last Week's Most Popular New Topics
from the forum and that was on it.
Maybe vintage topics should be closed out, but then again somebody would just open the same topic now. Sometimes historical perspective is...
Mine was the reverse as it is her Bronco. I think I drove it after a month or so. I like the driving experience of cars vs. trucks so it wasn't a big deal. I only have driven it twice without "supervision" and that was to take it to/from an oil change.
I could read labels clearly at 2:30am in my room with the shutters fully closed.
We had water and coffee in the Walker House, but no ice. When I went to the front desk to ask about ice they had to get it from the restaurant and they never mentioned it was available in my house or anywhere...
The rooms had lots of flaws -- Walker House room 109. No individual temperature control, which is a BIG DEAL. We always set CONSTANT FAN and 68 degrees as hotel rooms are inherently stuffy. Lots of artificial light penetration at night, which means if you like dark rooms while sleeping you...
Awesome experience at the Offrodeo in TN despite getting drenched during the pre-drive instruction. We both felt confident in the vehicle and the instruction. It was exciting without being sketchy which was perfect. The instructor let us know the times we would slide or lose traction and...
We just drove a 2-door at the TN Offrodeo.
We did use the locking diffs front and back, but never the sway bar disconnect.
Based on the terrain that we used it for simple off-roading that is complete overkill.
We bought a Big Bend 7MT with no advanced 4WD, no differential locks, standard...
Just got back from TN. Great environment. Mostly couples, but a few people with their friends. If your wife isn't interested don't force her as even though it isn't traumatic it will make your experience worse. We had rain during the pre-drive instruction and we all got soaked. If my...
Ours is the 30th on May staying at RT Lodge. Getting excited. Long-ish drive from Chicagoland 10 hours.
We have a 7MT 4dr Big Bend <-- basically a base model with heated seats so anything we get will be totally different.
We've NEVER off-roaded beyond fire roads so it will be an experience...
My wife's last car 2012 Xterra Pro4X and her first clutch was at 175k miles so unless Bronco's have totally different architecture I think she what she is doing is fine just different. Previously she drove a pair of Isuzu Rodeos and they didn't have abnormal clutch wear either.
I drive mostly...
It was sub 40F this morning in Chicagoland so hopefully you didn't have the top down today.
We haven't switched tops yet as this will be our first summer with the Bronco. I still am concerned that switching hard-to-soft and back again will be a PIA with lots of cursing.
This is our first vehicle with it and it is very strange.
We have a 7MT and I go to neutral at stop sign/lights, while my wife clutches and remains in gear. For her there is no ASS, while when I drive I notice it. Luckily it is her Bronco as it is not seamless and seems clunky. It would...
Illinois is 2nd highest in the nation by some measures although 5th by this one
https://www.datapandas.org/ranking/car-registration-fees-by-state
We are fixed(all non EVs personal vehicles the same) for base plates with most specialty plates being an extra $25/year.
I think registration does...
It is my wife's truck, but she hates to shop so it has never seen a mall parking lot. It is her daily commuter and it has seen ONLY payment over its first 15k miles.
It lists 2021-2023 and not 2024+ is this a typo or did something change.
We have a 2024 and my wife has made no negative comments about the pedal play. Her previous vehicles were XTerra and previously a pair of Rodeos. She has 500k+ SUV manual tranny miles so I'm sure she is adaptable.
Never having driving a Ford manual tranny or any other American manual tranny before I found the shifting intuitive and the clutch travel obvious. I can definitely understand that automatic tranny drivers are delusional about their manual skills.
We are the the Offrodeo in TN at the end of May...
