11k miles on a trip to the Twin Cities in a snow storm my wife cracked her windshield.
Based on all the advice I had lowered the deductible on the Bronco with this situation in mind. We will see how well State Farm handles it.
We've NEVER owned an American car so our '24 Big Bend 7MT is our first.
We've owned Japanese made Honda, Nissan, and Toyota along with American made versions of other Japanese cars. We've owned a pair of VWs from Mexico.
Overall the interior and exterior of this is comparable.
Human factor...
We already have a tire cover representing our university. I appreciate the replication of the shift knob top, but for me it looks oversized and unnatural so even I didn't have a cover I wouldn't be interested.
Am I alone in the fact that customizing the dash is the least important part of vehicle ownership?
Personally our complaints with our '24 are more related to parking brake location, heat loss out the roof during cold weather, tailgate open order(glass first), and road noise.
As somebody said if...
It is my wife's Bronco so I haven't driven it much and it isn't intuitive vs. my other 3 current manual transmission vehicles. Saving space is nice, but making it less obvious has its drawbacks.
I do like hill rollback assist that is in my VW so obviously it can be done. It could be as easy...
I have 4 vehicles insured via State Farm and they are basically the same(Chicagoland super safe suburb):
2024 Bronco Big Bend
2015 VW Golf
2014 Infiniti Q60
2012 Nissan XTerra
car or SUV doesn't really make a difference it is all the driver.
Note: I did lower my deductible on the Bronco to $100...
Chicagoland here. My wife keeps it at 75 and the heated seats on max. When it get a chance to drive her Bronco I turn off the seats and turn it to a still too hot, but more reasonable 72 as she's always in the passenger seat.
The Bronco replaced my wife's 2012 XTerra with 230k miles. We still have the XTerra and we are selling our VW instead. I used to have respect for German cars, not any more after a pair of duds.
I've never bought an extended warranty, but then again this is the first American car we've ever bought. We bought the 7/125k ExtraCare. My wife has a long commute and drives mostly highway and will average 25k miles per year or more.
https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/soft-top-hard-top-swap-tips-lessons-learned-updated.35246/ I assume is the thread.
Rear Latch Brackets -- super easy for me to remove
Rear Cargo Access Panel -- seems like an exchange is required as I have the version with a cutaway
Frame Bolt and Bracket...
I am not an expert and really a Bronco noob so YMMV.
If you are replacing another soft top absolutely everything is included and more.
If you have a hard top and you want to install a soft top there are 3 components needed -- side gutters and 2 different brackets. The gutters get...
We've NEVER bought an American car brand before yet driven for 38 years.
Until my last 2 vehicles we've never owned non-Japanese as we bought 2 VWs <-- NEVER AGAIN
ALL manual transmission vehicles.
Our Bronco, which we take delivery this Saturday will replace my wife's 2012 XTerra Pro4X with...
