I've been a vehicle owner for over 10 years, and I just got my first tire plug kit this year, to fix a flat on my RZR. It's so quick and easy for small punctures. I should have had one in my tool kit years ago. It would have saved me having to mount a spare on the side of the highway a few...
Generally, when it comes to video reviews, you see enough information to make your own conclusions, and don’t need to put much weight on the final votes of the presenters at the end of the video. IMO
But not that good though.
Think of all the costs.
Depreciation of the Bronco & Defender
Insurance and fuel for the Bronco & Defender. Fuel for the Jeep.
Wages for three presenters.
Wages for editor.
Expenses for office space.
Camera / computer equipment.
The list goes on.
And, most videos won’t...
I definitely understand your concern for the lifespan of a cheaper battery option. Totally different scenario, but I put a cheap aftermarket battery replacement in my iPhone, and it's lifespan ended up being about 25% as long as the original battery. It was cooked after about 6 months.
They kept the video pretty short, probably for a couple reasons.
1. Attention span of many viewers is very short.
2. Keeping the video shorter allowed them to edit it quicker, and get it online sooner.
20s are fine off road if you wrap 42" Trail Grapplers around them, but otherwise, yes, they are better suited for the mall, or towing your off road toy down the highway.
I really like the idea of a PHEV. Electric only for most / all in town driving. Gas for when you need range and quick fuel ups on road trips.
However, I am worried it would not be a plesant or inexpensive long term ownership experience. As you said, you litterally have more things that could...
I enjoyed the video.
It's also a good reminder for me to never try and offroad my Sierra when it has the 20s mounted. I've only taken it off road once, and I had the 17s on at the time. It still was not very impressive though. Its size is a big weakness in the woods. It also has some...
The best way to extend the life of your tires is to have them never leave the garage.
Go out, have fun with your Bronco. Always carry a spare. Replace the tires as needed.
Well said.
These tires are OEM. They need to be smooth and quiet on road. They need to meet some fuel economy targets. They also need to provide decent grip off road. They need to meet a cost / budget target.
To do all this, something's gotta give. Sacrificing a little durability to help...
The XJ did not have GOAT modes though. Hopefully the Bronco's traction control system can use the brakes to give slightly better performance than an old, strictly mechanical 4x4 system.
Yes, she really is. She is very good at making the most of opportunities. On the other hand, I am more conservative, and have a resistance to change. We do balance each other out, which makes life better for both of us.
