  1. Who else is caught in the in-between vehicles lurch?

If you're just bridging a gap, look for vehicles that hold their value well. Toyota seems to lead the way here with their lineup of 4x4s. Toyota Tacoma / FJ Cruiser / 4-Runner / Tundra
  2. Plow Options?

It's a lot of money to spend if your only reason for owning a SxS is to plow snow, but if you have the budget, the storage space, and would use it for other chores / recreation then it could be a good option.
  3. Plow Options?

Again, I’m not suggesting putting a plow on a Bronco is a great idea, but I suspect “most people you know that plow” take to the road with their plow, so that they can get to the various properties they plow. I consider that to be a different usage case than at-home-use-only. I have to say, I...
  4. Plow Options?

Before buying my plow, I obviously considered the option of not clearing snow. But, i think the biggest problem with that would be nobody would deliver packages to my door if my driveway were not cleared. Also, depending on temperatures and freeze / thaw cycles, icy ruts can form, which can be...
  5. What changes you think Jeep will make to the Wrangler??

I test drove a Renegade Trailhawk. While it did have class leading capability, they are not cheap to buy when outfitted with the off road goodies. It still felt like a cheap vehicle from the driver’s seat though.
  6. What changes you think Jeep will make to the Wrangler??

Umm, I really don’t think they will change much. Between the 392, and the 4xe, there is still lots of excitement over in the Jeep camp.
  7. B6G Poll: can you drive a manual or not?

I never really got the chance to learn. I started driving about 16 years ago. My family always owned automatics when I was growing up, and learning to drive. When I took driving school, I requested a manual for in-car lessons, but their entire fleet was automatics. When it was time to buy...
  8. Will Jeep switch to IFS in the Wrangler?

The trouble there is, with such a major change, the Rubicon becomes essentially its own vehicle. With less parts sharing, and no shared EPA / crash testing, I don't know that Rubicon only sales numbers would justify the financials of continuing inovations on the solid axle Jeep. That's why I...
  9. Ranger Tremor Review

The Tremor package is pretty nice. I'm pretty heavily biased towards the Colorado ZR2 though. If I'm putting out big money on a midsize offroad pickup truck, I'd want one with a front locker.
  10. Trail turn assist worth while for an overland rig?

I see TTA as nothing more than a "neat trick." I have no problem making multi-point turns if needed. Think of it this way, unless you are on a moto, or ATV tail, somebody with a JKU or an FJ has made it down the trail before, without TTA.
  11. Will Jeep switch to IFS in the Wrangler?

King of the Hammers is a week long event, with all kinds of vehicles and races. The big show / main event is not what most people consider "rock bouncing," though there is a rock bouncing event. KOH is always interesting discussion, because it combines insane rock trails with desert running...
  12. Scale R/C

Hi there. I'm interested in full size Broncos, and 1/10 scale RC vehicles. I started with a Vaterra Ascender with the K10 body, and recently added an Axial SCX 10.3 Wrangler JLU. The 1/10 vehicles are fairly realistic, and I can enjoy them without even leaving home, on a reasonable budget...
  13. Ford Performance Debuts Bronco 4600 Race Trucks

I've enjoyed all the talk of the portal axles in this thread. Portals are certainly not a new idea, but they remain a pretty rare modification. Outside of their stock applications like HMMWV and Unimog, I only tend to see them under scratch built race buggies or rock cralers. It remains...
  14. 2022 Frontier Revealed

You think? I can't say that thought entered my mind.
  15. 2022 Frontier Revealed

Exterior styling looks great. The features and capabilities seem to be competetive for the class. A big part of its success or failure might come down to how it compares price-wise vs the competition.
  16. Watch live now: stock Bronco First Edition running qualifying circuit at King of Hammers (KOH)

I just happened to be watching the live stream when they took the Bronco around the qualifying lap. The segment was edited a fair bit, so it's hard to say exactly how smoothly it went, or if there were multiple attempts, but I don't doubt that the Bronco completed the course without too much...
  17. Ford Performance Debuts Bronco 4600 Race Trucks

I think this is super cool. Competing in Ultra4 4600 class is a great way to prove the capability of the vehicle's chassis.
  18. How can you pass this up?

I built a Base Sasquatch just the other night to check the price. If I was buying a Bronco as only an off road toy, that's probably what I would do. In the scenario where I was seriously considering buying a Bronco, it would need to serve as my wife's daily driver as well, which would make...
  19. Off-road YouTube channels?

I agree, there are definitely a lot of views waiting for whoever can get their Bronco videos on YouTube first!
  20. Off-road YouTube channels?

I've made a YouTube video or two, I really feel that you can't fully appreciate the effort it takes to create a decent video, until you try to do it yourself. Keep in mind, a lot of people who have found success on YouTube are just regular people. They don't have formal education or training...
