Ok, I'm sold on it. Now I can cruise to the mall and park with all of the mall crawler JKs and JLs! I was a bit worried with the front axle, but it definitely has the makings of a true wrangler competitor now!
Maybe the windows were rolled down and he heard the stereo generated noises... heh.
Funny story, my buddy has an F150 that had the base sync 3 stereo, and wanted something louder. Found a JBL add-on that was supposed to be a dealer option but never made it, that worked with the factory...
Portal axles? from Ford?
C'mon man, I bleed Ford blue, but this is the company that made 25 years worth of mustangs out of a station wagon to save money.
Watch TFLs videos on towing with the model X or taking it offroad on a very mild trail... With a trailer you end up charging as much as you end up driving.
They'd be better off trying to make the technology cheaper so they can replace the prius/fiesta/dart/civic/corolla/smart car type...
My JK was faster than a 5.0... it was a 2012 2dr rubicon, so yes, 3.6, 6 speed, 4.10s, usually had the soft top on or no top at all (emergency one in the bag). 2 door JK is about 100 lbs lighter than the 2 door JL as well. And the newer 8 speed autos are seriously quick to shift...
I usually run separate tires on the street vs offroad - much cheaper and better to have good tires for each purpose... also helps I have tire machines and a lift at home. on the XJ it's 32s on the street and 33s offroad right now, going to move to 33/35 if the bronco does end up having an IFS...
There's nothing extreme about that thing, and it probably rides very nice on the street - long arms are required for a lot of flex like that, and actually make the jeep ride much nicer riding on the street since it corrects the caster. About the only thing that's out of the ordinary on that one...
So you want a rally bronco that's comfortable on the street to run competitions with, one that competes with the f150 bronco and ranger bronco in the high speed offroad segment. Got it, that's the most successful recipe for a new vehicle out there.
Drive a JK/JL wrangler, they are way more...
Whatever the one that looked like it was squeezed out of a toothpaste tube and had 120hp.. "essentially replaced it" when the whole layout of the car changed and almost doubled in power, not really a spiritual successor... The one I'm talking about was the end of the celica name, and had dismal...
That's not what I said at all. I said that no matter what they make, even when they make something they claim will compete with the wrangler, to you it must have an IFS. Even if you got that vehicle and another cooler one comes out that will have an SFA, you will argue that that cooler one...
If you don't think they care what happens after that, you should ask them how they feel about the 6.0 and 6.4 diesels... and the beating they took on the superduty image and sales because of those engines.
Let's be real, if the bronco came out exactly as you wanted it, and then they released another bronco that had a V8 option and a solid axle, you'd argue that even that one has to have an IFS because you don't have a narrow 2 door removable top compact with good tow ratings rally oriented v8...
We've went over this "moderate" this and "moderate" that already. Enthusiast vehicles don't sell because they're very good at being moderate. The point is, the F150 Raptor and the Ranger Raptor whenever we'll get it are already good at moderate trails that the majority you're talking about...
