Yep, time will tell how the 7.3 holds up, it has every chance to be a winner. Big inch low power, low rpm, low stress, few components... I do think some DOHC heads with TI-VCT and direct injection on the 6.2 would have made more power and better economy... but it would have been way more...
Yes, I am talking about the DPF... and I'm not using my F450 for grocery runs, but I could definitely see an F150 3.0 or a bronco - if it had that - used for such...
I monitor those temps as I don't want to end up at a campsite in the woods and have the underside of the truck at those temps...
You're crazy if you think you'll be able to fit 34s on the base model stock... on the 60 grand raptor model, sure.
Today's diesels will only go that if you delete them... the emissions garbage is killing them. The gassers will go 200k miles as they're no longer the crappy pushrods that were...
He also enlarged the rim, so if that was a 31 on a 18" rim, then when you crank that up another ~1/3, it makes the rim look like a 24" rim... that adds to the proportion not looking right. That JK is on 17" rims.
Yeah, they don't look proportional at all... heh. But I think some of that is because he didn't lift it enough to make it look right - he only moved the wheels down just a tad; and with the snow you don't really get a frame of reference compared to the other pics.
It depends on the vehicle and size. My side by side will do on 30s what my Rubicon did on 35s, so until we get a good idea how this thing will look (and I don't mean looks wise, I mean breakover angles and such), until then that question is hard to answer. On wranglers, I'd go 35s on 2 doors...
Oh, I fully agree that backspacing and a lot of the variation between tire manufacturers can make or break a fit... on the wrangler, it wasn't even close to rubbing. I did have an F150 with a 2" leveling kit - was an 04 - and 35s - well, 315/70/17 BFG All Terrain TA KOs, and again no rub. But...
Half my fleet will be up on craigslist within minutes and the call to my sales guy will be placed...
Me too... best looking one since the 03/04 cobras. This was before the 325s went on, they stick out too much for it to look good. These were 275 MTs :(
And the ass shot with the 325s, in its...
I have a feeling that with the way FI coyotes cook cats, they figured a blower would be a bit easier on them than turbos... And packaging is quite a bit easier on a PD blower... But yes, it would be awesome.
Agree with everything you said... except it only takes 2" of lift for 35s (maybe the new JLs are different, but I'd doubt it). And if you want, you can do it no lift - just with fender flares - all of the low COG guys go that way.
This was my rubicon on 35s, 2" lift, no rubbing.
Eh, not quite any 6.2, but yeah, they have a huge advantage in weight and hp and trans that needs to be overcome by a lot of boost on the 6.2...
To solve this ecoboost sounds bad issue, we need an ecoboost 5.0 or 7.3, preferably in the bronco.
we're busy discussing why the H4RDC0R3! track only camaro is much faster than the secretary mustang which is much better because it has a digital dash and therefore more comfortable on trails to the mall. Rumor has it the camaro has a solid front axle, which makes it more H4RDC0R3R, but we...
Don't bother with SanTan... Sanderson is where it's at.
My old boss bought his mustang at santan, had them order it, they went ahead and etched the vin into the windows and all of that crap and then tried to charge him... he told them they're gonna have to order another one and sat there for...
The ecoboost mustang is way faster than the 4 cyl turbo camaro... there's a direct competitor there. What you're arguing is N/A V8 is slower than a supercharged V8? No shit?
If I had 60 grand, I'd still buy a base model GT and do this:
Looks all stock, right?
But wait, there's more:
Wonder...
Crazy to me that we're having this whole conversation about IFS vs SFA... at the same time we're discussing a whole 'nother vehicle - the baby bronco - that will come with IFS and likely IRS... so that everyone who buys it will be safe from the terrible agonizing disaster that comes with solid...
Haha, my base model GT came with 235s... it was quite bad in stock form (OMG it was slower than the mullets!), and it basically got hilariously bad once the exhaust/tune/torque converter went on... Thank god that was easy enough to fix - running 325/50/15s now on the street and they do ok.
