I don't think I was taking his question on the dealer not doing his job and ordering his vehicle in a timely manner. I took he was asking once a order is scheduled with a VIN. At that point it's up to the scheduler and the build matrix to find the build date/time. Your example sounds like...
Usually you will not see any "Previewing" on a Monday. Tuesday AM is when you will start seeing the ones that they are looking at for scheduling later in the week.
you are overthinking, haha, it has nothing to do with your dealer. It is all based on constraints and trying to fit your build into the assembly process.
My wife’s has been scheduled for two weeks but we finally got the email from Ford last night. Looks like yesterday was a mass email of schedule dates for a lot of folks. Looks like we have a Friday build day so we’ll see if the old saying still holds true. Haha.
I just checked on all of ours. Yours so far is the only one that I see that was bumped. We knew that it was possible for all of them to get moved around leading up to their build date. I bet they still arrive at then dealership pretty close to the same time the way they get stacked up in...
Ok, this is very interesting....Looks like we not only have the same first name and Last name initial, our build are incredibly similar...identical except we dropped the roof rack....ours is a Area 51 5/21 reservation holder. We are a small dealership and I was worried my wife's might get...
Wife's got selected last Thursday for a 9/12 build week. 2.3L MIC BL. I removed tow and roof rack to help jump up our line. I did jump 1 earlier reservation holder but he has a 2 dr BL SAS pkg with LUX. so I probably was going to jump him anyway I had ours built. Still haven't got a email...
Buying local and having a relationship with your dealership will always end in a better situation than just chasing a good deal. As they say, “your first price is not your last price you have to pay”
This is one of the downsides of not buying local. Sure sorry to hear of your situation. That had to be a horrible feeling when you had to leave and fly home...hopefully the servicing dealer will be able to work it in sooner than expected.
Each month a dealer has only so many allocations...these can carry over from month to month, so a "walk in" order that gets built because of build type or options, it's technically taking a spot from a reservation holder with that dealership....just cause a build can't be built this week...
There is no line. Available Commodities (soft top vs MIC) will get built first. We have had several walk ins get chosen before reservation holders for that very reason.
You are correct. We got info today and they do not have a projected date set yet. It's frustrating to say the least...they have bounced the Maverick around so much in the past week that its been a circus...I learned years ago that Ford will make us dealers look silly because they will change...
