  1. Two "Hot Takes" from seeing the Bronco

Never even knew a dead pedal was a thing. Is this mostly for short people for when your feet can't reach the floor? The grab handle was really loose on the models I saw. Seems like a gimmick to change out colors.
  2. Future Bronco Updates?

It's not lobbying against the current, actually elated it's here. But I do believe that there is room for a full size as well. I would gladly give up a small bit of off-road prowess for increased cargo space and towing capacity, that is much more practical for many. Think raptor vs wrangler...
  3. Future Bronco Updates?

I don't think hoping it closely mirrored a past bronco is all that big of an ask. Wish they kept the current bronco to be like the original and the bronco II and then built a full size to be like the the ones in the 80s/90s. Would build on the Bronco's history and give those of us that want a...
  4. Future Bronco Updates?

If only I had kept it! It was a beast.
  5. Future Bronco Updates?

As I type this more and more, I realize all they had to do was build an updated version of my '82 bronco and I would have been perfectly content. Flat floor, removeable seat, naturally aspirated V8, real tailgate, good towing. Instead we get an IFS Jeep.
  6. Future Bronco Updates?

Good post. Definitely helps explain ford's thinking or lack there of. 1.,2. Your fold flat floor logic is reasonable. My counter is they could easily have made the seat removeable to give you a flat surface without the ledge. The old bronco was like that, no reason the new one can't be as...
  7. Future Bronco Updates?

Haha, exactly but then you have to put it back in if you ever want to use it! My old '82 bronco rear seat was simple to remove. I still can't believe a removeable seat isn't standard. I found a dual dog kennel that would fit perfectly in the bronco, even with the ledge except for the dang...
  8. Future Bronco Updates?

Agree on "all" of these but what about on "any" of these! Even one or two of those would probably be enough to get me to pull the trigger on a current bronco, still may even without. Just torn on practicality.
  9. Future Bronco Updates?

Would love to see a bigger version built on the f150 or F250 tremor platform that has much more cargo area and that can tow 5000 pounds. The current bronco, just like a jeep wrangler, is a mid-size suv. What good is an accessory that makes it a fold flat floor if you can't easily remove the...
  10. Future Bronco Updates?

We tend to keep our vehicles a long time (decade plus). With the increase in competition (new four runner, jeep's response, bronco warthog and becoming its own "brand", electric vehicles, etc) I see us entering into a golden age of off-road competition. With that in mind, I'm not sure how long...
  11. Black Diamond vs Rubicon

Rubicon pros: Rock crawling Ease of suspension modification Ability to purchase today Reliability (arguable but it's been proven off-road over time as the gold standard so bronco has to prove that it will hold up over time) Badlands or Bronco w squatch pros: High speed off-roading On road...
  12. What would be Plan B larger vehicle for a family hauler?

I think the answer is clearly a 4 Runner. Barely bigger than a bronco, slightly less but still very off road capable, more reliable, not as big as a pickup, not as fast or sporty as a bronco, same price range as a bronco. The leg room was ok in the rear seat. I'm 6' 3" and my legs had maybe a...
  13. Diesel option anyone?

Without the emissions crap - yes With the emissions crap - no Not a direct compare but I think a hybrid is more likely to give similar low end torque as as a diesel not to mention FAST acceleration! I would love to see a jeep 4xe equivalent on the bronco with about 50 miles of electric only...
  14. 2DR Defectors?

Great plan! Love the 2 - 2 door plan. So much better (and safer) to wheel with two vehicles and even more adventure for you kids when they are driving! You will have to give us some comparisons between the jeep and the bronco! Not many folks are going to have them side by side like that.
  15. Bronco v. Carnival

I would absolutely love a modern version of this!
  16. Finally saw the Bronco in person...

Yet, modern trucks seemingly have no-issues. An SUV is perhaps a bit heavier and perhaps more expensive, but it seems like there has to be more to it. It's probably also tied to mileage standards. Not many companies outside of Ram are actively building vehicles that get sub 15mpg. As...
  17. Finally saw the Bronco in person...

    It just means more:)
  18. Soul Searching and Common Sense Check

For the love of all things good at least splurge on sasquatch and auxillary switches!!! Do you know what mods you would want to do? Don't forget it's likely going to be significantly more expensive to mod IFS vs your neighbors SFA jeeps.
  19. Finally saw the Bronco in person...

Agree, that picture with the doors, hood and hatch open may be the best color I've seen on a bronco. Looks like an overcast day. Crazy how different some of the pictures look in different lighting.
  20. Finally saw the Bronco in person...

I think you really need to drive them to know for sure. I'm 6'3" and felt the width and dash depth was good but was a little worried about head room with the hard top. Completely agree about the rear cargo area. Worst part of the bronco in my opinion. I feel like the money went to the...
