Thank you. That's the kind of info I haven't been able to find. I would love to drive one myself, hope Ford gets on that soon. I'm either going cheap trim and squatch or expensive badlands/badlands squatch. Don't care about much other than off-road performance for the money. So trying to...
Not sure what part you don't think I believe? I certainly believe it handled the mild trails set up by Ford as you stated and as all the videos show. Are you saying there were trails there that the badlands with disco could handle that the other broncos without couldn't?
The videos I've seen were pretty mild trails and it would have done fine without a disco. No doubt it adds a little comfort and is a nice to have feature but I'm looking for performance for the badlands price. Will a badlands go where a base squatch can't? For a jeep Rubicon compared to a sport...
I think this is a good question and not clearly defined. So is it true that the sasquatch package has zero armor? Seems odd too add lockers and 35s but no armor. I'm really curious how much ford armor weighs on the BD and badlands and what quality/thickness it is. Is it better to get a BD...
So where are the 0-60 vids with fast times for all those talking sh*t to the OP? I for one appreciate the real world info he is sharing both good and bad so I can make an educated decision.
Many of us hoped for the simplicity and reliability of a naturally aspirated engine, but were told the...
Can't say I'm surprised at all by those ripping on TFL.... probably the same folks that cant say a positive comment about Jeep or anything without a blue oval. TFL isn't afraid to say when Ford (or any other manufacturer) is a step behind or could improve so can see why some of y'all don't like...
Thanks for the info OP. I think your info is likely spot on. I don't think it was can afterthought as much as it was ford likely cheaping out a bit and saving something for the warthog. If sasquatch got the articulation of a badlands then it would steal alot of the warthogs thunder.
I would...
Have to agree with those saying it's a bad idea.
If you want a real off-roader that can tow decently then buy a power wagon, raptor or gladiator maybe even look at ZR2 bison or Ranger tremor(although thats not a real off-roader more a package) if you only tow light. Ironically all of those...
"Better" is subjective of course. I would trade a mpg or two lower for a NA engine. I just trust the longevity and real world performance better. There are plenty of F150 data showing the 5.0 mpgs aren't much worse than the ecoboosts. I just like the simplicity and longevity of naturally...
I've hit a wall a bit for sure.
Not loving the rear interior design of the bronco (tailgate, interior dimensions, non removeable seat, ledge, etc)
The interior is average, not bad, but not great.
The ecoboost is just not very exciting to me, especially after the mpg release (again not bad...
There are going to be legitimate situations towing a small off-road trailer in the mountains for example where a 2 door squatch bronco range may be under 200 miles. It also has limited space and payload rating to carry extra fuel.
At some point it just becomes an off-road toy and not very...
Real world with a turbo and a full vehicle these numbers are likely to be off a mile or two. So 15mpg will be pretty common for wildtrack, badlands, black diamond and sasquatch. I get 14mpg on my 19 stock power wagon with the 6.4 hemi (granted its on 33"s) for comparison. If you don't get those...
Congrats, the gladiators are definitely growing on me. I though they were ugly as hell when I first saw them, but now when I see one with 37"s and a lift I think they look great.
They are really great hunting/overland/light towing rigs and hit for that sweet spot between a full size truck being...
I'm warming up to the EV option on the bronco. The bronco already has poor range and I don't think it's big enough for most my backcountry trips.
But I could use an EV bronco as my daily driver to save gas and speed around town, the beach, etc, with the EV acceleration. Then use my HD to tow...
Absolutely. I've never not owned a V8 of some kind in my 25 years of driving. I'm waiting a couple years to buy for a myriad of reason including in order to skip the Ecoboost phase altogether. Either give me a V8 or give me the power boost/4XE type motor.
I'm pretty sure something unique will...
I don't think we are there yet or will be there both grid and battery deck for electric to go wholesale in the next decade. I do think they have a niche product that has a place in the market.
Here is the setup I would love based on what is available today.
Put the Ford Power boost hybrid...
I'm not saying they shouldn't have gone with the 6G, agree it was a great choice. As you said it competes directly with the wrangler and fills a niche that Ford didn't have a part in allowing them to grab market share. My issue is with the sport. They water down the Bronco brand with that little...
It doesn't really bother me, just thought it was funny they try to sell it as if they thought of the AM radio consumer. I have broken a couple of whip antennas over the years, once on a low limb and the other courtesy of a buzzard chowing down on roadkill that didn't fly away fast enough. I do...
Yep, ford was listening....to the AM radio rural enthusiasts (all three of them). I would bet a sizable amount of money this has far more to do with how the plant assembly or parts sourcing that was available to mirror the f150 and save a buck.
Its far more likely to be damaged than the shark...
There are very capable full size off-roaders out there. It doesn't have to be small to be capable. Ford could have brought back the 6G to be the bronco II and then also offered a full size variant to be the bronco 5G......but instead we got the bronco sport. No reason that front and rear...
