I'm back to second-guessing (actually, it's probably like 11th-guessing at this point).
I originally reserved a Badlands. Then I thought, "I'll never use any of that Badlands stuff... I should just get a Big Bend. It does everything I'd need the vehicle to do and is cheaper and gets better...
Yeah, all good points. I didn't even think to ask if they'd sell it at MSRP. My assumption would be since Ford doesn't really seem to have any issue with dealers adding crazy ADM, it'd be up to the dealer that has the vehicle to decide how they'd want to price it.
I hate to play the "my dealer said" game... but I was at a local Ford dealership for something non-Bronco-related this weekend and happened to chat with a sales rep about the Bronco. He said that if a customer who ordered a Bronco chooses not to buy it, they can ONLY sell it to another...
Unpopular opinion, it seems... but I actually think the capable bumper looks better than the HD modular bumper. One of the few silver linings of getting pushed a '22 for me.
That's where I went to see a Bronco (the one and only time I've seen one in real life...) when they were doing the 2-car travelling press tour thing last year. I asked one of their reps if they were offering any price guarantees for reservation holders, and the dude literally chuckled at me and...
Howdy, NC peeps. I'm in Concord. I don't have anything terribly useful to contribute to this convo - just figured I'd pop in with my experience. I'm a July 2020 reservation holder. I originally reserved with Hilbish in Kannapolis. I called them at that time to ask about pricing, and they...
Thanks again to John for being so forthcoming with all the information. It's much appreciated.
I've really "zenned out" on this whole thing. I'm number 140-something in line, and have a 2-door Badlands on order. Not holding my breath. Sounds like it'll be this time next year, if I even make...
Useless anecdotal experience: break-in matters, gotta seat those rings. In every new car I've ever owned, I've immediately goosed it, repeatedly redlined it, and blipshifted it from mile 1 on to infinity. Never had any issues.
While it's obvious the 4-door is more practical in 99.999999% of all situations, I'm one of those people who thinks 4-door offroaders are just plain dumb. 2-door all the way! Ha.
(Plus, the 2-door looks better in 100% of all situations!)
I've been pretty vocal in all these various BD vs BL threads talking about my own "struggle" to pick between the two. After an exhaustive point by point analysis of all the factors that matter to me, I ultimately ordered a 4 door Black Diamond.
Then after a couple weeks of having that gnawing...
I have an '05 Wrangler with a Bestop trektop on it. Have had it for years. It's never leaked a single drop. I had to replace the rear panel a year or so ago because of a busted zipper, and I've had to replace a few of the plastic fittings and hinge pins over the years (which are cheap and easy...
I love Jeeps and love offroading. I've always liked Ford. I'm not necessarily a huge fan of the brand, but I've owned Ford cars before and they were... fine.
Big thing for me is interior comfort. I can't fit well in a Wrangler (too tall, bump my head on the sport bar). Fords have always fit me...
For me, it's more about "loyalty". I contacted several dealers in my area when reservations first opened and no one would commit to a price at (and certainly not under) MSRP. I live in a market where idiots are happy to pay 10s of thousands in ADM for new vehicles. I was impressed with Stephens'...
I'm a 7/23/20 reservation. Ordered a pretty easy build from a commodities standpoint (4 door, black diamond, manual, soft top, standard package). But... I'm like number 140-something in line at Stephens. My guess is, it'll be this time next year before I get scheduled... (if even then).
I put a pair of these in each seat of my current Jeep LJ. It's a fairly simple process if you're at all "handy" with working on cars. Getting the seat upholstery off just requires some patience (and likely hog rings/pliers). Running the wires/switches is as routine as wiring anything else.
I...
I went through the same debate. Ultimately picked Black Diamond as well.
Honestly, the only thing in mid package that I even halfway care about is heated seats. And you can add those yourself aftermarket for way less than $1,500.
Also, I'm an "enthusiast", but all that extra stuff in...
I've been driving nothing but manuals since the 90s. It was Ford's offering of a MT in the Bronco that first sucked me into becoming obsessed with this car. Pretty rad that it has a clutch-in-restart feature, first I've heard about that. Most modern MTs have the hill assist feature (which I...
The only Broncos I've seen in person were a Big Bend and Outer Banks. Initially, I was pretty set on the Badlands. But after standing next to a Big Bend and seeing how big the stock 32" street tires look in real life, I couldn't imagine how nutty a 'squatch or even stock BL would look. In...
I finally put my order in this morning. After much internal debate, I went with the Black Diamond. So, I'm bumping this thread. I'll be obsessively pouring over everyone else's BD pics from now until my truck finally arrives... like, a year from now... Sigh.
