Anecdotal experience and all... but only time I've ever had a major issue with a new vehicle was with a Ford (2014 Focus ST). It went into limp mode and all lights came on. Got it to the dealership. They had it for two weeks and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. In my state (NC), lemon...
That's so brutal. Ford gets our hopes up by sending out that statement saying they're not taking new retail orders for 2023 so they can "focus on delivering early reservations", then they schedule zero early reservations for the remainder of the 2022 run because of their bs allocation. Sigh...
FYI, emailing a picture of your driver's license isn't a great idea from a security standpoint. If we end up having to send that, it'd be best if we could use some kind of secure upload tool.
It's a total crapshoot; no one really knows. Many of us ordered Oct 2020 and are still waiting with no scheduled date in site. It has very little to do with your order date (or any BS emails/press releases Ford issues). It has everything to do with your dealer's allocation.
No doubt many of...
I'm still foolishly crossing my fingers Ford might offer the BD or BL with cloth as an option in 2023. I switched down to a BB solely because of the MGV. I'm squarely in the camp that suffers mightily from "swamp ass" with vinyl seats. I spent about 20 seconds sitting in a BL on a dealer lot...
I bet by mid year they announce they're just dropping any unscheduled/unbuilt reservations/orders entirely and tell everyone to just work with their local dealer...
I could be way off, but I think they delivered 75-80ish last year (2021 models) and like 50ish so far this year.
Being realistic, I wouldn't expect them to get more than another 50-70 next year. As number 81 in line, that means I'm probably looking at an early 2024 model.
Expecting Ford to...
Agreed. I'd buy all my cars from Stephens if I could. I wish they were a Toyota dealer... I've been contemplating going the Tacoma route and giving up on the Bronco. Wish I could buy one from SAC... ha.
I doubt anyone at Ford has thought about it that hard. I'm sure a handful of big market dealers complained right at the start because they realized dealers like SAC and Granger were getting tons of reservations. So Ford said, "Oh, no problem. We'll just create an allocation formula based on...
Pretty sure I've said this before... but just to clarify, any/all of my "whining" in this thread is directed solely at Ford. I have nothing but appreciation for SAC.
There are what, 200ish of us that were 2020 reservations that are stuck in limbo at Stephens? Ford could so easily just say...
I'm a July 23, 2020 Reservation w/ a 4dr soft top Big Bend 2.3 manual with very few options. Still 80-something down the list at SAC.
I know constraints matter, but they matter a lot less than the allocation does. Reality is, if we want to see our Bronco sooner, then we should place a new...
I dig it. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I'm in the camp that really likes solid "grayish" colors. I know of lot of car-peeps find them boring, but I prefer to do my own body work and touchups. It's sooooo much easier to color match a milky-solid than a metallic or pearl. In something like...
Saturday will be my 2-year reservation anniversary. At this point it's honestly just sort of silly that I even still want the Bronco. I fully expect to hit my 3-year reserversary next year, still with no build date anywhere in sight...
Ha, I'm right there with you man. I was up somewhere in the mid-70s last time I checked. Now I'm down to number 82.
I guess at this point a late 2023 delivery is about the best I can hope for...
My original plan was to replace my 2013 Subaru Crosstrek with a 2021 Big Bend. Once I realized that I'm stuck in Ford allocation hell and probably won't even see a 2023 Bronco... I traded the xtrek on a used 2016 JKU. The plan then was to cruise the Jeep for a couple years to tide me over until...
All you guys with these "updated delivery" dates and I'm over here getting ready to celebrate my two year reservation anniversary with no potential build date anywhere in sight. lol.
I'm a Charlotte (well, Concord) guy too. I see a Bronco out-and-about almost every time I leave the house these...
The average person can't identify any vehicle beyond it's color and basic shape. You'd be hard pressed to point at any vehicle in any parking lot and get a better description than "White Truck" or "Black SUV".
I wouldn't expect most people to even know that Ford brought back the Bronco at all.
Anecdotal experience... I've been offroading for nearly 20 years. I've never 'needed' a locker. Been in a few situations where a locker might have gotten me out or over it easier, but it wasn't necessary. I think for 99% of driving anyone would do, a rear LSD is better.
All that said, I totally...
Glad to hear mostly favorable things about the Bronco manual trans. I've driven nothing but manuals for my whole driving life. I've had Hondas, Subarus, Nissans, Fords, Jeeps, etc. Looking forward to learning a new MT if/when I ever get one.
