Might work. Let us know if you have any success.
The grommet wouldnāt need to be oval, a round one of the correct size would contour to the oval shape if the rubber is pliable enough. Only tricky part might be finding a grommet of the proper diameter that will also work with the thickness of...
Havenāt noticed any extra wind noise myself.
I think once I get the position adjusted properly there will be less glare off the hood, and the exposure of the photo from my iPhone I believe is exaggerating the glare in the photo. I have considered getting some matte black vinyl for the raised...
I wouldnāt call the stock mount anti-theft in any way. The kit includes all Allen head screws and a standard nut which could be easily removed. I replaced the stock hardware with tamper resistant drilled spanner head screws and an anti-theft nut that utilizes a proprietary nut driver to install...
Finally got the kit installed and thought others would like to get an idea of how bright these are and the pattern they can expect. These are the Squadron Pro model in the combo spot/driving version. Install was a breeze with the kit provided by Baja Designs. The only thing I added was I...
I didnāt know there is supposed to be a rubber cap over the plastic pin. I have some rubber caps of different sizes that are designed to fit over plastic tubing of various sizes so I may try one and see if that works. The only problem is they are fairly thin and would likely wear through.
No problem- happy to help. I hope it works for you. Iām surprised more people havenāt shown interest in my solution. I guess as more folks take delivery that might change.
Hereās my post on the solution you mentioned. It has worked for two different MICs so give it a shot and report back. The second time I did this I used a much thinner piece about 1/8ā thick and it worked just as well...
Pics are on the first post of the thread. Just unlatch the panels, push the panel up a bit and put a piece of craft foam under the plastic pin. Lower the panel back down over the foam and re-latch the panel. The pin will punch through the foam (if itās thin enough) and your rattling will be gone.
The Bronco continues to run just fine. No issues whatsoever with another 300 miles on it since the issue. Someone mentioned the possibility that when the dealer sprayed water in the engine compartment to clean off the dirt mountain dust that some water may have gone someplace it shouldnāt have...
My 2.0 top did finally start popping the other day when temps were down into the upper 40ās. Got out the craft foam again, cut a few squares and the sound is gone again. So at least my results have been repeatable. If grease works too, thatās great. Iām sure there will be more than one way to...
How difficult is it to get to the spark plugs in these motors? Sounds like it would be a good idea to swap them out. Also, how do I check ETIS? This is my first Ford.
Happy to say the Bronco is back home and is running without any problems. The codes generated were P0201, P0205, P0301, and P0305. Cylinders 1 and 5 had out of range voltage or resistance, as well as ignition misfires. No abnormalities were found by the dealer that would direct them to a cause...
This.
The whole point of a relay is to allow the use of a remotely located, lower current switch, ie. the auxiliary switches. Iām planning on using one of my auxiliary switches to run to my winch relay.
Hereās the update on my Bronco- The dealer was able to pull a code that he described as āmisfireā in cylinders 1 and 5 I believe it was. Iām trying to get the actual code number. The two most senior service techs at the dealer drove my Bronco for about 30 minutes with a laptop connected to the...
This is why I wasnāt convinced it was in limp mode. I believe limp mode should only attenuate the throttle input to limit speed but itās been more than ten years since I had a car that went into limp mode so I could be wrong. The vibration was what concerned me the most.
The problem is the hole in the metal bracket attached to the frame isnāt round, itās oblong. So I donāt think a grommet would work unless itās custom made for the application. And the pin itself is nylon.
I donāt believe grease is going to do anything to prevent the nylon pin from rattling inside the hole. Itās not a sound that is created due to friction, like a squeaking hinge. The rattling sound is percussive and comes from the pin having too much play inside the hole and the pin striking...
