I wouldnāt put anything on it. You donāt want to give FORD a reason to deny warranty or exclude you from what will certainly be a class action with these tops.
Keep in mind that they already do make an updated FJ40 for the rest of the world. It is call an LandCruiser 70. https://www.toyota.com.au/landcruiser-70
How are the 4.70 gears working out? Auto or manual? I have the max tire kit sitting in a drawer but Iām not sure how big of a tire I want to step up to. Iām thinking just 37ās but yourās sure looks good. I just need it to work correctly as well.
No rattles but I had two squeaks that were coming from the locating pins for the removable front hardtop sections. Two pieces of heat shrink fix it.
No the shitty Goodyear M/T tiresā¦. Those have an unbearable amount of tread noise on grooved concrete highways.
Mine are also finished like a 5 year old made them in art class while the teacher was helping another kid.
I would advise against filing or sanding them in any way. Donāt give Ford a reason to deny the almost certain future warranty claim or class action that all of these MIC tops are going...
I have been towing boats in the 20ā to 25ā foot range for over 40 years all over California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah including my home lake in the mountains of Southern California. I have towed behind old station wagons, pickups, jeeps, suburbans, land rovers & range rovers, and now my 2-door...
Tire size has a big impact on inflation presure as does temp. My cold inflation on the factory Goodyears is 29 front and 25 rear. That make the hot temp about 33 & 29. It completely sucks that Ford has put the low tire light at 30 psi. That might be fine for the smaller tire sizes but it is...
I donāt think it is a shock thing but more of a spring rate issue. On Monday I towed my ski boat which is right at the max tow capacity and the rear suspension hardly sagged. When if finally goes to the dealer someday Iāll complain about it and see what they say.
No I have not. I'm running 25 psi in the rear tires and it helps but it really isn't a fix. My next step is going to be to raise the front by 1 inch with a spacer lift and hope that moves the center of gravity rearward slightly. It might be wishful thinking but I need to level it out a little...
Was thinking about doing some sort of C-press to push them through. The next thing will be if I get them out will I be able to get the spacer in between the shock and the LCA. Perhaps a spring compressor is the solution for that part.
A while ago I purchased the Rock Krawler 1" front spacer lift to get back the spring sag the winch created. The appeal of this method was that it didn't seem to involve dropping the LCA's or removing the shocks. From what I have been reading it seems that I still have to remove the shocks in...
