Tow model controller is responsible for the brake lights and turn signals, and aux / battery power
The brake controller(tow pro) just for the electronic brakes.
The programming The fdrs, or forscan. Enable sway control, will disable crosstalk and blind spot monitoring when towing a vehicle...
It is very unusual for those to appear, work by installing the tow module.
Those should require forscan options changes by their very nature.
Lamp check specifically because typically that is not even enabled using FDRS.
Installing a module by itself does not change programming in separate...
NO that module will not work.
Go_UL_Cards also confirm that.
I believe the EJ7Z-19H332-E is for the Bronco sport.
It does not have the mounting bracket.
I am guessing it would not have the relay for aux/trailer battery
and the output is not the same. (Your lights will not operate correctly)
The last 2 digits are the checksum
for them to be different would mean you are writing the incorrect prior values.
I am guessing you have currently/what forscan will show below (checksum values WIll NOT Be shown...
2024 should be pre-wired.
Look under the rear bumper and you will see the connector.
It should be protected by a small metal enclosure, but you should be able to pull it out
That should look real similar to what's in my hand
They are the same thing.
(M2DT-19H378-AB) # listed on actual part (see link below)
BUT
Fords number for ordering: M2DZ-19H332-A
Module Trailer Brake M2DZ-19H332-A | OEM Parts Online
They are incorrect with statement, or unwilling to do it because it is not worth what they will paid.
The the evidence or proof is that.
(1) They literally sell the parts to do that.
(2) It's been done before, other people have done it.
(3) It's programmable by FDRS.
Soooo.
I was able to get it to change modes today.
I did remove power from the unit (unplugged it). And then restore power after about 2 minutes
After that I was able to recalibrate it.
I was able to verify that with a 7-pin trailer tester I made over the weekend.
It utilizes 10 w loads for each of...
What I'm talking about and referencing is the electronic brake controller (Redarc Tow pro) which would connect @ connector 2608.
My question is specifically about the expected input voltage. ( Pin 12)
The output voltage, pin 14 goes directly to the 7-pin connector.
That can vary based on what...
Can anyone confirm what voltages reading (range)should be feeding into the brake controller.
My assumption is/ was that it should be between 0v-13.8v ish (nominal system battery voltage) depending on the position of the brake pedal.
When I measure between ground and pin12 (violet/white) with a...
Yes, post #2 I reply to you, saying that there's a relay in that module.
That relay is for the battery charger/ auxiliary power to your trailer.
I.e. the orange wire
That would be a good indicate you have a short (intermittent?) on right turn (green wire).
It goes from the tow module connector (C4397C) ->
to a connector front driver wheel well (C201) (make no logical sense to me why runs back up to the front, but it does) ->
then runs outside under vehicle...
I don't know, never used an Apple product.
Forscan of course! Is Windows based, I'm sure you can get a Windows on Apple through software emulation/ additional software.
For all honesty entry level Windows laptop are stupid cheap for what you need to work with.
You need the capability of changing...
If you know how to use forscan, you can look at my post. You can do it yourself.
My two cents on something:
Having something professionally done, really only means you paid someone to do it.
If you know how to do something, you'll do better work on something that you have a vested interest...
Warranty:
There should be one if the dealer does it.
None if you do it.
Do you have conferencing yourself to:
put the hitch in.
Put the trailer tow module in.
Brake controller in?
The wiring should be there, you can look up under the bumper and see it if it is or isn't installed.
Are you...
That orange wire in the harness I'm talking about, is the battery charger for the 7-pin connector.
That is regulated by the relay internal to that module.
That is fed by one of those blue wires in the center of the module.
To my knowledge, there's been no software /firmware update to that...
Try unplugging the connector on the right side of module.
If the issue goes away, the issue was not with the tow module, but the wiring that leaves it.
Keep in mind you will not have brake trailer lights functioning.
If you had the wiring added, there could be a problem at the connector,
