California does not require you to use chains. If you have 4WD with M+S tires (all Broncos do I believe) then you can pass chain control in the mountains. The regulations do say that you have to carry (not actually use) those chains in chain control areas, but few 4WD actually do.
I'm back...
Copious amounts of spirited off roading. Desert, crawling and forest service roads.
Removed OEM mud flaps, replaced OEM steps with RCI sliders with top plate and XPel PPF since week 1.
15k miles no issues on paint, the rear flare accessory ready panels are showing a fair amount of pitting...
….of flares?
I don’t have any personal pics, but I ran across this a while back…. It should give you a good idea of what you’re dealing with before pulling a flare. It’s a whole lot of ugly under there, and why we’re not seeing Sasquatch style flares in the aftermarket.
Odd thread.
I’ve driven my Bronco Raptor off road a LOT in the last year. Its handled everything I’ve thrown at, crawled over or jumped off of without a mechanical issue.
But it’s not indestructible. It doesn’t look perfect anymore.
Case in point was on a relatively easy trail, Corral...
I decided to throw my rack and bike on and test the limits: I have a passenger side swinging Kuat Pivot 2.0, a NV 2.0 and Specialized Turbo Levo size S5 for demo purposes.
as you can see, you can swing the pivot to 90 and 120 degrees AND lean out the NV rack. The only contact I could make was...
It was three weeks via train to the Richmond, CA yard and then a week to arrange transport to my dealer 100 miles away. Got it on Christsmas eve. Best present ever. Hang in there!
Search light bar install videos. A couple of them ran wiring down the A pillar for some reason to tie into the upfitter wiring behind the glove box. Not sure why they didn’t tie in to upfitter up top, but they did a good job of showing how to route a wiring harness down the A pillar as I...
VIN character 10 is model year 2021=“M”, 2022 = ”N”, 2023 jumps to “P“, probably to avoid potential 0/O confusion, I
ASSUME 2024 will be “Q”
Anyone in the BRaptorverse know if the tail tight harness plugs in the Raptor are the same as the standard Bronco?
it seems to me there’s no need for them to be different, but with the Braptor, ya just never know. Unfortunately vendors didn’t know for sure.
Reason I’m asking is that Diode...
Sorry, I thought since you mentioned cost factor, you were planning to run Rec90 on a regular basis.
Fill up tank before storing to minimize potential for condensation. Add a fuel stabilizer with whatever gas you use before last fill up. Rec90 is not immune to oxidization over time, it...
My question is why you’d want to? Shouldn’t be any reason you can’t or shouldn’t except it probably doesn’t have a top tier additive package like typical regular or premium from a quality retailer. But on the other hand it’ll give you a (very) little more mpg than gasoline with ethanol.
Thanks. This is helpful to know that it’s a requirement on the Bronco already.
The Raptor Bronco and the Bronco are pretty similar on this install, but with the Raptor version having an even longer upper bracket to try to get past the lower arm bolt.
I’ve already trimmed the flag (or...
Not exposed. I think the sawzall part wont be too bad. Getting the bolt out and back in laying in my back with truck jacked to full droop is the bigger challenge. Not what I bargained for going in. Oh well.
thanks for the info
Foutz has suggested that will work but has also insisted that the slid will slip in if you loosen 4 tank skid bolts. I agree it would work, but getting that bolt back in working on the floor by myself isnt the easiest way forward.
Ive tried loosening the gas tank skid...
Greg Foutz is actually pretty good about answering email, but never Definitively answers the question.
The question is currently “are you really really really sure the tech installed the passenger skid without either removing the link bolt (they previously removed this bolt and installed it...
Curious if anyone’s fully installed the Foutz rear lower arm frame bracket skids on their Bronco Raptor?
I have gotten the drivers on, but I’m not able to get the passenger side on without either removing the gas tank and skid or the rear lower arm link bolt.
anyone? …..anyone? 🤪
Check out Gold Country Broncos on FB, they do loads of rides in the mountains around Tahoe and very accommodating of new drivers.
I’m more familiar with trails on the South Lake side, but Genoa Peak (easy) is not far from Truckee, Moon Rocks (easy or as hard as you want to make it) outside...
